(Listen to the song on the side when you reach page 2 to feel the emotion of the chapter more. The song just fits perfectly to the scene. :") )

Every girl or boy know that the words 'We have to talk' is a bad sign for every relationship. We've seen it a thousand times in movies, heard it in stories, and read them in books. It's been said a lot of different ways but it always ends the same way--a break up. A freaking messy break up.

When the words left my mouth, Cassandra knew that something was really really really wrong. The whole atmosphere felt so bleak and sad… like that in my dream.

I can even feel the tension radiating from Cassandra's body. It's like I'm feeling the confusion and the pain she feels. The room was silent except for the music that the crickets created.

"What is it Alex?" Cassandra finally broke the silence.

"What do we have to talk about?"

She was getting exasperated getting no answers from me. I can hear it in her tone of voice even without seeing her expression. I don't want to look at her. I don't want to paste the image of Cassandra's hurt face on my mind. It will haunt me for the rest of my life.

If I'll lose her, then all I'd want to remember is her smiling, eyes glinting with her love for me. Oh god, I want to cry. I don't want to hurt her. But I have to do this now. I can't continue on hurting her and treating her so badly.

"Alex", she broke the silence. I could hear her voice quivering with the threat of impending tears. Oh no, Cass. Babe, please don't cry. I wanted to say to her. But I remained mute. "Please, I can't take it anymore Alex. Please just tell me what's wrong. Did I do something to upset you? Please tell me. Let's talk about it." She stopped and waited for me to say something. When I still didn't say anything she pleaded my name again.

"Babe." She pleaded in barely a whisper.

I looked up at her. She was already crying. I can't take seeing her this way. She needed answers. She deserves answers. Its the least I could do. But the problem is I don't' even know the answer. Why am I feeling this way? Should I tell her that I just woke up last Sunday feeling all melodramatic and crappy inside? That I had the sudden urge to break up with her?

"Cassandra", I caressed her name in a whisper.

This is it. I considered lying to her for a second there. But no matter how painful these words are, they needed to be said. Why? To finally let go of the pain.

"You need to break up with me", I simply stated. It hurts so much saying those words. I felt a tight pinch on my heart and every part of my body feels like breaking down. But at the same time, it felt… almost liberating to finally have voiced out was was bothering me for the past few torturous days. I was looking at her when I said those words and I watched as the words registered in her brains. She looked shocked, and then hurt and then shock again. I can see her wanting to let me repeat what I just said.

"What? You're kidding me right?" She asked baffled with new tears spilling out of her eyes. I want to wipe them away like I always do.

"You…you want to…break-up?" She asked slowly and in a whisper as if if she said it any louder the words would be real.

"Are you sure you're not drunk?" She implored again, making sense of the situation.

I simply shook my head and looked down again. This is just plain torture! I can hear her sobbing.

"Please don't cry. I hate to see you cry." I said to her.

Her whole facade turned angry and her eyes pierced through me.
