"Come in." The auburn girl turned back around and opened the door wider.

"Someone find Henry." Isis said walking towards them with another girl.

"How many of you are there?" Cole asked, and Paige stepped on his toe to silence him.

"Four girls, Isabella's parents, and one guy." Isis shrugged, "More than most Institutes."

"Institute?" Cole asked, but this time Paige just shook her head.

Isis led them down a network of hallways and stairs until they fell upon a large set of double doors. The doors had words in another language on them. Isis translated them, "Open, Close, and Library."

"Oh." Paige mumbled. She glanced behind them to see that the auburn haired girl was following them.

Isis opened the library doors and walked through. The library had shelves that looked about fifteen feet tall, and every space was filled with books. Even at a girl of Paige's height, she probably would've still needed a ladder to reach the top shelves. Paige, who loved to read, didn't even recognize the titles.

"Can someone just explain to us what's going on?" Paige asked.

No one answered.

"Where's Henry?" The auburn girl asked.

"I asked someone to go get him." Isis rolled her eyes.

"Can someone explain to us what's going on?" Paige asked again.

"We're shadowhunters." Isis said.

"I can't believe you let mundanes in." The auburb girl murmured.

"What?" Cole asked widening his eyes.

"We're shadowhunters." Isis repeated.

"You know. The one's you call when you have a demon on your tail." A tall, raven black haired boy said entering the room.

"Henry! About time you showed up." Isis said.

"Who's the paley?" The boy, who Paige guessed was Henry, asked. She looked at her pale arms and flushed. "Relax. I'm playing." Henry said and smirked. Paige looked away from him and back at Isis.

"I- I'm Paige, and this is my brother, Cole. Our parents were killed by, um, I guess demons." Paige said and Cole nodded.

"Isabella." The auburn girl said.

"And you know me." Isis said with a friendly smile. "You say your parents were killed by demons?" She asked and her smile faded.

"If blood-covered creatures are demons..." Paige said.

"They were covered in blood ?" Isabella asked, the shock sending a chill down Paige's spine.

"Are they not supposed to be?" Cole asked this time.

"Not really. Not unless they've been killing someone. It was probably your parents' blood. Normally, they'll be some sort of exotic green or blue, but it depends on the type of demon." Henry said and ran a hand through his hair.

"I'm not sure I believe all this." Paige said.

"You saw a demon last night." Isis said.

"I must be dreaming." Paige mumbled.

"I assure you, no matter how good I look, this is not a dream." Henry said with a smirk that made Paige want to punch him in his face.

"This is real." Isbella said and grinned. "You're one of us."

"Isis, care to dumb it down for them?" The raven haired boy said.

Isis took a step towards Paige and her brother. "There's an old Herondale saying. We tend to use it with...mundanes. 'All the stories are true.'"

"Vampires, werewolves, demons, it all exists. We were bred to protect the world from it, well, and look really good in black." Henry said. "You're one of us too, as Isabella pointed out."

"They could just as well have the Sight, Henry." Isis said.

The black haired boy took a step towards Paige and looked down at her with sea-green eyes. "No, I can see it in her eyes. She's a Shadowhunter, which means her brother over there is too."

Suddenly, the world around Paige was engulfed in black with a loud thump.
