Nothings Gone Forever Chapter Two

The next day, I woke up with the drill of my Mickey mouse alarm clock. I slapped it off and got out of bed.

Looking across the room, I saw a lump under the blanket. So, that meant, my roommate was back.

I walked into the bathroom with my shower things and took a shower. After brushing my teeth and getting dressed in the school uniform, which was a blue plaid skirt, knee length black socks, white blouse and a blazer on top, I walked out and saw that my roommate was still asleep.

I debated on whether or not to wake her up, since it was now 7:15, but decided against it. Just before walking out, I took a look at myself in the floor length mirror. My green eyes stood out against the darkness of my hair and full fringe and paleness off my skin. My hair was naturally straight and black, I brushed through it and made sure my fringe wasn't wonky.

I sighed and as quietly as I could, I grabbed my bag and schedule and slipped my feet into the black flats.

I sighed once more and opened the door.

This is big. I can't do this, I thought.

Shut up, the voice in my head said, go out there and do your best. This is your first day after all.

I shut the door, gently and started down the stairs. Looking down at the map, I walked to the right and opened some doors. The cafeteria. Breakfast time, Ash, I thought, grimly.

At 7:55, I walked to my first lesson, English.

I was shaking as I opened the door and mentally smiled, that I was the first person in the room.

There was a teacher at the front typing away on his laptop.

"Um, hi, Sir." I said, trying to catch his attention.

"Oh! Hello. You must be Ashley Milos?" He smiled and stood up.

I nodded.

"I'm Mr. Lanley, and your sitting at the back, on the fourth desk," Mr. Lanley said. He had blond hair and brown eyes, with a kind smile.

"Oh, okay. Thanks," as soon as the words were out of my mouth, the rest of the class filed in.

I, kind of, ran to my seat. Boys and girls, different colours and shapes sat down.

A girl with wavy brown hair and dark eyes sat down next to me. I smiled at her and she nodded at me.

"Right, guys, first off, we have a new student. Ashley Milos. I want you guys to welcome her." He nodded towards me and every ones faces turned towards me. I blushed, furiously.

A boy in front of me, who had amazingly hazel green eyes with dark brown hair, winked and smiled at me before turning back round.

"Now, English! So, we're reading a new book, this term..."

After English, the guy with hazel green eyes stopped me.

"Hey," he smiled.

Why was he talking to me? I thought.

But, I smiled back anyway.

"Oh, hi."

"I'm Shane, by the way. What's your next class?" Shane said.

"Um, I..." I looked down at my schedule. "Maths."

"Awesome. Me too. Wanna go together?" He asked.

I didn't want to walk with Shane to Maths. I wanted to go alone. Why, out of all the others, did he come up and talk with me? No one talked to me. Not even the girl sitting next to me. I sighed and realized he was still waiting for my answer.

"Uh, sure. Sure," I smiled.

"Cool. C'mon, then." He started walking, with me beside him. We passed people and rooms, but no one payed any attention to us.

"So, who's your roommate?" He asked, looking at me.

"Um, I haven't met her yet. Why?"

"Just asking." He chuckled, gently.

"Right," I sighed. Where was the Maths room?

"Yeah. So, here we are," he nodded towards the door. He opened the door for me, and I walked inside.

"Th-thanks," I whispered. The whole class turned around and looked at us.

"Miss. Cally! Sorry, we're late," Shane smiled at the young teacher.

Are all teachers in this school young? I asked, myself.

Miss. Cally had straight black hair with a fringe. She had glasses on, so it was hard to see her eyes.

"Your Ashley, right?" She asked me.

"Y-yes," I blushed. Why am I blushing? Stop blushing! I told myself.

"I'm Miss. Cally," she said. "And, you can sit at the back next to Alice." She nodded at the girl who was also in my English class.

"And, you, Shane, go sit in your seat, please." She smiled at him.

We both took our seats. I noticed the girl next to me gave me a dirty look.

I winced, mentally. What had I done now?

"Right, guys. Write down your names, my name and Maths on the first three lines of the book," Miss. Cally instructed, giving out books to everyone.

She seemed like a nice teacher, so far. Shane was alright too. But, what was up with the girl next to me, Alice? I thought.

I stopped thinking and started listening to Miss. Cally.

I needed to get a good level.
