I tried to look behind me, but I couldn't. I took a step back, but Chase pulled me back to him, tightly.

"What're you doing?" Shane asked.

"None of your business," Chase snapped.

"Why's she crying?"

"Like I said, none of your business," Chase repeated. I looked up at him and nearly gasped at his expression.

He was... angry. Pure anger. His eyes were ice blue. He looked... scary. Kind of.

"Chase," I whispered. I wondered what was wrong with him. Did he suddenly feel bad for me?

"Let her go!" Shane snapped and grabbed my arm. He pulled me to him.

"Go away, Shane." Chase hissed.

"Make me."

"Shane, stop. I needed to go the the Nurse and Chase came," I said. This time, when I took a step back to look at Shane, Chase let me.

Why was I sticking up for Chase? I hated him him, didn't I? Just a few minutes ago.

Was that really just a few minutes ago?

"Yeah, not that you should know..." Chase said, under his breath. But Shane heard.

Shane just glared at him and turned his back on him.

"Come on, I'll take you." He smiled and grabbed my hand.

"Uh, no. I'm meant to be taking her," Chase muttered, sharply.

"Shane, go back to class. I'll be fine, my head just hurts. I don't want you to get into trouble because of me," I whispered. For some reason, that I didn't know of, I wanted to be alone with Chase.

"But," Shane nodded at Chase and I knew what he was going to get at.

"Really, Shane. Go. I'll be fine," I said, again.

Chase smirked.

"Okay. See you at lunch, then." And walked off.

"Come on then," Chase said and grabbed my hand.

Are all boys like this? Or just the ones I know?

"Let go." I snapped.

But, he just held on tighter. I sighed, silently. We walked to the Nurses office without saying anything.

I was surprised that Mr. Lloyd appeared.

"Oh! Ashley! Hi," he smiled, warmly at us.

"Hey, Mr. Lloyd," I said and walked in.

His room was pretty big. There was a desk and a computer to one side and a bed to another.

"So, what's up? What're you doing here?" He asked as he sat down. He nodded towards the two chairs in front of the desk. Me and Chase sat down quietly.

"Uh, my head hurts," I told him.

He looked at me for a second before asking Chase if he has a note.

"I," he checked his pocket. "I did. No. I don't."

"Well, then. Go back and get one please," Mr. Lloyd told him.

I knew he just wanted to get me alone so I didn't say anything.

Chase sighed. "Okay."

When I heard the door shut, I looked at Mr. Lloyd.
