After seeing the snake in the science lab, Luke and I decided that it would be fun if we played around a little longer. Neither of us wanted to go back and watch that movie, anyway.

We were inside one of the other empty classroom, the lights off and the chairs stacked on desks.

"Come on," Luke whispered, pulling me along beside him. "I have an idea."

He worked quickly and quietly, opening cabinets and pulling out different things. He set it all up on the play mat, and I was surprised when he was finished.

He had managed to use some poles and the clothesline that ran across the classroom to make a tent out of a sheet.

"Wow, Luke," I started, looking at him. The grin on his face was huge. "This is amazing! But it's a little dark in here."

He nodded his head, furrowing his eyebrows.

I looked around the classroom for a flashlight or something before my eyes landed on a pile of wires on the teacher's desk.

I walked over and looked at them closer, smiling when I realized what they were.

"These are perfect!" I said, quickly walking back to Luke and the makeshift tent. I tossed one end of the wire over the clothesline and plugged the other end into the wall. The fairy lights lit up, and the tent looked almost magical.

I turned to look at Luke only to see him walking towards me, his arms full of flashlights.

I laughed when he almost dropped all of them. He grinned at me. "I thought we could use a little extra light."

We both crawled into the small space provided by the tent. It was a little small, but it was perfect for the two of us.

"Let's play a game," I said, picking up one of the flashlights and turning it on. I placed it so it was standing up on the ground, the bright side up. "Now you're turn. Stack one on top of it."

Luke grinned as he picked up another one, turning it on before placing it on mine.

I picked up another, flicking the switch. When I went to put it on, the one below it wiggled a bit. I held them steady before letting mine go, and it stayed put on the top.

I stuck my tongue out at Luke. "Good luck topping that."

He grabbed the next flashlight, turning it on. He furrowed his eyebrows and bit his lip in concentration as he tried to balance the flashlight.

He let go of it, and we both watched it teeter back and forth before it fell off the top, crashing back down, causing the rest of the stack to fall.

I laughed loudly, and Luke's eyes widened before he shushes me. I fell quiet and we both listened.

Light footsteps are heard outside in the hall, and they seemed to pause right outside the door before continuing on.

Lukelooks at me with a grin before we both fall into a fit of quiet giggles.
