Chapter five

It was midnight by the time we got set up. Zek had made tacos and we chowed them down. After we ate, I was tired so I went up to one of the rooms to get some sleep when no one was paying attention, while everyone else stayed downstairs. I crawled in bed and started to fall asleep when I heard the door open. It was Rachel and Arianna. I pretended to be asleep.
R: I told you she'd be up here.
A: I guess you were right, but how did you know?
R: I don't know, I just knew.
A: She looks so peaceful.
R: I know, I'm really surprised she's asleep, considering everything that's happened today.
A: Me too.
R: Why don't you get some sleep Ari? I'll talk to her about it.
A: Okay, love you boo.
R: Love you too.
Rachel closes the door and walks up to the bed and takes a knee.
R: Katie, how are you feeling?
K: I'm okay I guess, just traumatized.
I sit up and she sits next to me.
R: I'm sorry.
K: It's okay boo.
R: No, I mean I'm sorry for not being there.
K: But you were. You were there for me when I needed it most. You always have been. Thank you.
R: You're welcome boo. Get some sleep okay?
K: Okay.
Rachel's perspective:
I went to the room Arianna went to and she was asleep. I went back downstairs and sat next to Jacob. He put his arm around me and kissed me. Then I looked at zek and he looked worried.
R: What's wrong zek?
Z: Where did Katie go?
R: Relax, she's upstairs in one of the rooms.
Z: Oh thank god. Thanks Rach.
R: No problem.
I get closer to Jacob and we start to cuddle on the couch.
Zeks perspective:
I walked upstairs to Katie's room and she was fast asleep. I stood there for a second just watching her, then I went over to the other side of the bed. I got on the bed and lied next to her. She woke up and turned over to me.
K: Hey babe.
Z: Hi my love.
K: Babe, what happened to your parents?
Z: I don't really know, I just woke up and they were gone. What about you?
K: My parents...
I could tell it was hard for her to talk about it.
K: My parents died right in front of me. I didn't know what to do because I was in shock. But when I was actually able to move, they were on the floor... Both of them were. Then I went outside, and Rachel found me.
Z: Are you okay though?
K: Yea, I will be.
Z: Okay.
K: Babe?
Z: Yes?
K: What's gonna happen now?
Z: I don't know love. Just get some rest okay?
K: Okay.
She got closer to me and I fell asleep as well.
Austin's perspective:
I had eaten five tacos and I was so full. I looked around and saw Katelynn asleep in one of the chairs, and Rachel was cuddling with Jacob on the couch next to me. I decided to go outback to get some air, and I saw fires burning in the distance. I just sat on the grass keeping aware of my surroundings. I looked up at the sky and it was Crimson red. I could barely see the stars. I just sat there deep in thought. God only knows what I thought about. I just smirked.
Jacob's perspective:
I was so glad that everybody was okay. But I was also very sad because of my parents. I couldn't get my mind off it...
Rachel could tell that something was bugging me.
R: What's wrong babe?
J: Nothing, I'm fine.
R: No, you're not. Talk to me.
J: Can we go upstairs and talk about it?
R: Sure babe.
So we got up and headed upstairs to one of the rooms. I closed the door and Rachel sat on the bed and I sat next to her.
J: So you know how my parents died?
R: Yea.
J: Well, I can't get my mind off of it and them. I've already lost so many people in my life, and now there's two more. I just... I just hate it... I can't sleep because I'm constantly thinking about it. And I try not to show my sadness and depression, but sometimes I just need to let them out.
R: I'm really sorry babe. If you ever need anything, just know I'm right here. Okay?
J: Thank you babe.
We both decided to sleep in the room we were in, so we got under the covers and cuddled until we both fell asleep.
