Chapter eleven

We all wake up to find Arthur cuddling with Arianna. 'Are they an item or something?' We all stare at them when they wake up. Arianna acts like she didn't know he was there. We all laugh and start packing our things. Rachel checks the windows to see if the mutants are still out there.
Rachel: They're gone, let's go.
So we got our stuff and katelynn removed the branches and I pulled the boards off. We walked outside, but we weren't alone. We were immediately surrounded by mutants, zombies, and soldiers. So we did what we usually do and fought are way out. Jacob made all kinds of guns out of the sunlight and handed them to us. Austin threw them around and Rachel, Arthur, and zek turned into dire wolves. I used my super strength and snapped them in two pieces. Arianna used water to drown the mutants. Katelynn used her fire element to burn up the soldiers and zombies until they were nothing.
Looked like we won that battle, but they're were more to come.... We were sure of it.
Jacob: Well that was easy.
Katelynn: Maybe for you.
I laugh.
Rachel: No, it was easy. A little too easy. Oh well, let's get going.
Katie: Maybe we should find a car instead of walking the whole way.
Rachel: I agree. I'm tired of walking.
Jacob: I don't get tired.
Zek: Me neither.
Katie: That's besides the point. We need to find a car.
Katelynn: But where?
Jacob: Bitch, they're all over the place. They're just all abandoned.
Katelynn: Okay, damn. I was just asking.
Jacob looks like he's getting annoyed.
Rachel: Let's just find one okay?
Katie: Found one.
I point to a white van that looks big enough to fit all of us in.
Katelynn: K, let's go.
We all run to the van and get in one by one. It had two recliners, a fridge, and a couch inside.
Rachel: Woah! This is awesome!!
Katie: Jacob will drive for the first 6 hours, then Zek will drive and we'll go from there.
Jacob: That works, like i said, I don't get tired.
Katie: Good. I'm gonna catch up on some sleep. Wake me up if something happens.
Arianna: We will.
I lied down on the couch and started to fall asleep when I heard Rachel say she was gonna get some sleep too. Arthur and Arianna were sitting in one of the recliners and Austin was sitting in the other one so she came up to the couch.
Rachel: Hey Katie, can you move over so I can lay down with you and get some sleep too?
Katie: Sure.
I scoot over and she lays down next to me. I wrapped my arms around her and put my head on her chest so I can get more comfy and I fell asleep. A couple hours passed and I woke up, but I didn't move cause I didn't wanna wake up Rachel. I just lay there listening to Jacob and zeks conversation.
Jacob: How are they doing?
Zek looks back and stares at me and rachel.
Zek: They're fine.
Jacob: Good.
Zek looks down as if he's sad. But of course, I couldn't see his face so I couldn't really tell.
Jacob: What's up with you?
Zek: Nothing, I'm good bro.
Jacob: Are you sure?
Zek looks down again.
Zek: No. Why does this shit always happen to me? Whenever I get a girlfriend, it always has to end badly. I hate it.
Jacob: I don't know what to tell you bro, but if you miss her... Just talk to her.
Zek: I did, but she completely shut me out.
Jacob: Well maybe she didn't wanna be bothered.
He's right, I didn't.
Zek: I don't know anymore dude. Maybe I should just give up on her. What they didn't know though is I didn't want him to give up. And I kinda missed him.
Jacob: I don't know man, but I can't make your decisions for you.
Zek sighs.
Zek: I get that.
Then Rachel moves and scares the crap out of me. But she doesn't wake up, instead she wraps her arms around me. I get closer to her and try to fall back asleep.
Then all of a sudden, we run over something.
