The story of my life: reinvented

Chapter eight

We were on the road once more. But this time we were less enthusiastic. We were too focused on whether we'd find our parents at all.
Jacob: Guys, lighten up will you? We'll find them... somehow.
Kat: Yea, I'm sure we will.
I just looked down, as I was losing hope of ever finding them.
We walked past CHS and just looked at it in silence. A whole bunch of memories filled my mind.
Kat: Hey guys, let's go to the amp.
Rach: Okay.
We walked onto the campus and onto the amp. There were so many memories filling my mind as we walked up there. There were some of the best times of my life up on that stage. I just smiled and sat on the edge of the stage. Rachel sat next to me and I put my head on her shoulder.
Rach: I still can't believe this all happened.
Kat: Me neither. I still don't get it. What could've happened that caused all of this?
Rach: I don't know. But I'm really glad you guys are okay. I don't know what I would've done without you in particular. I would probly be dead by now.
She laughs a little and I do too. Then zek sits next to me and puts his arm around me, pulling me away from Rachel. And Jacob sits next to Rachel.
Ari: There's so many memories here, it's ridiculous.
Austin: Yea, I kinda miss it.
Dalton: Yea, I do too.
Katelynn: Me too.
Jacob: Shut up dalton. You hardly ever hung out with us.
Kat: You know what? He's got a point.
Jacob: Thank you Katie!
Kat: Anytime.
Dalton: What are you talking about? I was hanging out with you guys a lot.
Jacob: No you weren't! You were always hanging with your fake cowboy friends.
Ari: ENOUGH!! I'm tired of you two fighting!!!! It needs to stop, now!!!
Rach: She's right, I'm tired of the arguing too. Now knock it off!
Jacob: Ugh... Fine.
Dalton: Fine.
Kat: We better get going if we're gonna find a place to camp.
Zek: We also need food and water.
So we all got up and walked off campus towards Walmart.

On the trip there.

Dalton: So you guys have super powers? How?
Katelynn: Yea, I'm still wondering about that myself. Why us?
Austin: Yea, I don't quite get it either.
Rach: Me neither.
Kat: Yea, why did this happen to us?
Jacob: Well we know that our guardian angel gave us our powers, but what's the purpose?
Kat: Maybe our "guardian angel" is actually God. And he wants us to survive the apocalypse.
Rach: Maybe...
Zek: Or maybe he's a wizard!!
We all laugh.
Kat: Babe, I don't think wizards are real.
Zek: You don't know that though.
Jacob: He's right, at this point I think anything is possible.
Kat: True.
Katelynn: Okay, there's Walmart! Let's get in and get out. I don't wanna attract any of the mutants, since thats what you guys call them.
Kat: Got it. Rachel. You know what to do.
She nodded and transformed into a wolf. Rachel, Jacob, and Dalton stayed outside while me, Ari, Austin, Zek and Katelynn got supplies. We had 8 people traveling with us so you can imagine how much stuff we needed. We grabbed all we could and ran back outside. But Rachel, Jacob, and dalton were gone.
Kat: Rachel!!!!
Austin: Jacob!!!!
Ari: Dalton!!!
Kat: You guys!!! Where did you go!?
Ari: Oh no, there gone.
Katelynn: Where could they have gone? We were only in there for 10 minutes.
Zek: Fucking fantastic!
Just as he said that, a voice sounded. But not the same one we've always heard. This one sounded dark and mysterious and evil... Well you get the picture.
Voice: Hello there little people.
Kat: Who you calling little!?
The voice chuckles.
Voice: You make me laugh. You're so tiny, it's cute. By the way, if you ever want to see your friends again, I wouldn't use that tone.
I roll my eyes.
Kat: Wait, you have our friends?
Katelynn: What did you do with them!?
Voice: Hahaha, I guess you'll have to come to the White House and find out.
Kat: Yeah right? We're not going across the country just for you.
Voice: Fine, then say goodbye to your friends and parents.
Austin: Wait!!
Voice: Yes?
Austin: We're on our way.
Voice: Excellent, I'll be expecting you.
Kat: Austin!!! Why would you do that without asking me first!?
Austin: I thought you would want to find your friends. Plus I want my parents back.
Kat: But what if he was bluffing!?
Austin: But what if he wasn't?
Kat: Ugh... Fine, looks like we're going to DC.
