Chapter 12

I woke up by the call on my phone. I checked the time and it read 12:30. I rushed to the bathroom and as I came back, the phone rang again. I picked it up and blurted out "Hello" "Hello, Lana, it's John, I've got great news for you! We've just booked an entire arena for your concert in Toronto, I won't take no for an answer. I know it's your break but c'mon we can't let this opportunity pass and besides its only one week of rehearsals and the main show and then you're free again" He screamed in the phone. His words seemed more like a command than a choice but I knew I couldn't say no to him. "Alright, thank you for the news John and tell me the confirmed dates later. Oh wait no just email me the details, thanks" I hung up on him.
I didn't had work today and I felt like I didn't wanted to leave home as well. It was a feeling of unease like I was unsure of what to do and how to do it but one thing I was sure of was that I didn't wanted to leave home because I just wanted a day off from the crowds.
My phone rang again and before I could read the contact name I picked it up. "Hey love, good afternoon, just finished work, having a little break so I thought about calling you" "Oh hi James. Yeah good afternoon to you too, how's your day going so far?" I asked him. "It's going good so how was last night for you?" He asked me. I began thinking of last night and there was just one thing on my mind "About last night, can I ask you something?" I asked nervously. "Yeah sure" "Did you and Clarie ever date?" I was surprised at my own confidence to ask him so bluntly but then again, the question was killing me ever since I got it in my head. "Who told you that?" He asked "No one, I just wanted to know" I confessed. "It was....was a long time ago...I don't know really...we just...we're just good friends now..yeah" I couldn't see him in person but I could imagine his expression as he said those words. It wasn't exactly like all the other things James says. He wasn't sure of what to say. He took time to search for words to answer me, that made me somewhat suspicious as to why he couldn't answer me straight forward without a doubt. Then he continued "But that was in the past and you're my present and I love you " he finished. "I love you too" I said and with a goodbye, he cut the call.
I wore my white silk shirt with a black silk plazo and went to the kitchen to get something to fill my tummy.
After the food I sat in the TV lounge with my Mac in my lap and opened my twitter. "Check out Lana and James, Hollywood's hottest new couple" I read the headline and chuckled. There were so many headlines about me and James.

One thing I found common among all the headlines was that, in fact, if it wasn't for me, no one knew who James was. My name was in the same sentence as his for people to recognize him. It didn't bother me, in fact I was actually happy about that because the less people knew about him, the more they would just leave it to be. I saw updates on the fans and the things they did for me. I was always amazed by their love.
After going through headlines, rumors, fans and updates. I closed the Mac and put it aside, picked up my phone and called Jenny. It's been a while since we have been together, and I, for one, know how much we both need to meet up and talk about everything that's happened from the last time we met. I called Jenny and invited her to my house. Within 45 minutes, she was by my door as if she was waiting for the invite.
"Heyy! So good to see you, c'mon have a seat now" I said patting the empty sofa space beside me. "Lannnaaaaa! It's been a while, hasn't it? I already started missing you!" she said as she sat beside me. I stood up and without a word bought her something to drink as I sat with her again."So what's up?" I finally asked. "Oh, nothing really, you know my tour is coming up so it's work, work, work and more work. Just got 2 days off really" she sighed. "Oh good luck Jen, I know you'll be making headlines with your amazing tour" I said beaming. "Speaking of headlines.." she trailed off and gave me a smirk, raising an eyebrow. "Okay, okay. So after that party, I went on a date and then he took me to his ranch and he said he loves me and I love him too and yesterday we went to his friends party as a official couple " I completed my speech. "Isn't this going a bit fast, it's getting me worried" Her smirk was gone by now. "What do you mean?" I questioned. "Lana, as much as I love that you're in love and happy, I will tell you that James is a bit of a ladies man, I mean I know him before you even did and trust me he's not the best guy to hand over your heart to. It's not like you read articles about his scandals he's not that famous but everyone in Hollywood who knows him, knows his ways" she said looking deep into my eyes, she then continued "I'm just worried about you love, after you know what happened before, I just want you to be happy." I know what happened before, Brad.
