Landla wore her wedding dress and smiled the widest as her saw her reflection, she was happy.
More than she ever was.
"You look beautiful" Jenny said fixing the bride's dress.
"Thank You"  Landla replied looking at her reflection.
Landla smiled more than she ever did. She looked at herself in the mirror and felt like a queen.
It was her day.
The day she had been waiting for her whole life.
Landla thought about Daniel waiting for her and hurried to see his face.
"You guys will come after?" Landla asked Jenny
"Yeah, we'll come the venue in a car sent by Daniel" Jenny replied
"But aren't you supposed to be there first?" Landla questioned
"I don't know ask Mr.Groom"
With the name of her future husband, she blushed.
"You're Blushing!" Jenny exclaimed
"When I first started blushing because of Daniel, I would hide it in embrassement but now I don't hide it anymore, I blush and there is no hiding in it, I am in love and there is no hiding in it"
"Must be nice to be in love and to be loved" Jenny sighed
"It is"
"Alright I think you need to leave now" Jenny said opening the door as Landla stepped out and got in the car which drove to the surprise Venue.
Her cheeks flaming. She was the most nervous she had ever been in her whole life but she liked it. She liked the feeling and she knew once she saw her Groom, her nervousness would fade and so will every other feeling and love will take over, just like it always did.
Jenny and Liam were to come in a separate car which would be sent by the groom. The car was to come just after the car for Landla arrived but they waited for more than 30 minutes and no car came. Jenny asked Liam to call the driver of the other car which Landla was in to ask for the directions since they could not get any late and decided to go in their own car by following the directions.
Other guests were to come in cars sent by Daniel but even those cars got late but the guests still waited. Most of them had arrived from far places and did not bring their own cars.
Landla was sitting in her car and thinking about how Daniel would be looking when the car stopped.
She looked around from the window and got confused. "This is a jungle, Borris" she said to the driver.
"Mam it is an outdoor wedding, there are some trees on the front but as you walk further, the arrangement is there. I am afraid, I cannot accompany you into the jungle, Mr.Cane has strictly told me to to leave you here and drive off" Borris replied back
"Okay, thank you" Landla said as she opened the car door and walked in the woods. Borris drove off the moment she got out of the car.
Landla walked further into the woods and saw a very familiar face.
"Daniel..." she exclaimed.
As soon as Daniel heard her voice. He turned around "Landla..." he said with a painful look.
"Daniel, where are the seats? Where are the guests?" she asked her groom in a confused look
"You look beautiful, too beautiful for me" he replied and then continued "Landla, do you remember the promise I told you about when we were in the plane?"
"I remember, the promise you made to yourself when you were fifteen" she replied her groom
"You're the daughter of the officer" he told his bride
"I..I..I didn't knew" she said as she took a few steps back to process the words that we were being exchanged. She couldn't believe it. Her father killed her groom's parents.
"Landla, I love you. There is so much pain in me right now. You'll never know what I am going through. I made myself a promise. A promise to my parents. A promise to the boy who missed his parents" he continued "At that stage in my life, if someone shooted me I would've thanked them, I went through so much pain and seeing you standing here in front of me, reminds me of it all again" he said as he started  approaching her
"Daniel I love you. Please don't do this please" She begged
"I have to. Believe me I don't want to as much you don't I have to I can't see you standing in front of me, knowing who you are. There is no hate I feel for you, I love you and hope you love me too"
"I do, Daniel. I want to spend the rest of my life with you" she replied
"I want to spend it too, I want to. Please believe me when I say I do. Believe me, I do" he said as he stood close to her. His breath brushing against her face.
They knew no words were  there to describe the pain they felt. There was pain between them, more pain than they've ever felt in their life.
"Daniel..." she whispered his name and he could hear it. He could tell every word she spoke just by seeing the way her lips moved when she spoke and 'Daniel' was his favorite word that she ever said.
"Landla..." he whispered loud enough for her to hear it and she could.
They stood close enough to hear each other's heartbeats. She knew this was the end and so did he but they stood there as if nothing separated them, not even promises. He cursed the day he found out who she was. She cursed it too but there was little, very little, they could do.
"Let this be our farewell" he said as he pressed his lips against hers.
And they kissed.
One they had been dying for since they saw each other.
Daniel broke the kiss and looked at his bride, she had tears in her eyes. Daniel used his hand to wipe off the tears off her face and held her hand tightly in his hand.
Daniel took out a shotgun from his back pocket and tears filled his eyes.
His bride saw the gun but she wasn't surprised, she wasn't afraid. She looked him into the eyes and his set were set on hers.
"Daniel...if I am going to get broken by someone, I choose you" she repeated her words from the day Daniel told her his promise and she meant it.
She wanted him more than she wanted anyone else and she knew if the trigger was not pulled pointing at her, she would suffer, her whole life.
Daniel did not reply. He knew no words could describe how he felt. All the words he could never say were written on his expressions and his tears were the prove of his love for his bride and her tears spoke the same language as his.
No one could understand that language except them. No words could translate that language.
Daniel closed his eyes and pointed the gun at his bride, who never in a million years thought would wish for death so badly.
She knew if she was to be alive for more than a minute, she would suffer a million deaths and a lifetime was more than she would bear.
She wanted her death to be instant, like a flash of light and leave her no pain.
She knew what Daniel meant when he closed his eyes so she closed hers too.
And all of the sudden, they heard the loudest sound they had ever heard.
With eyes closed, Daniel heard his bride falling down.
He knew he had two choices.
Either he opens his eyes and looks at the mess he has made or keeps them closed forever.
And he knew, in the blink of an eye, he knew, he was more sure of his choice than anything in the world.
His hands raised to his head, his arms shaking, he pulled the trigger.
For he was more sure of his choice than anything else.
