Chapter 26: The Auction
Trevor POV
Beautiful is an understatement if I define Diana right now, she was more than that and I couldn't find the right words to explain it to her that's why instead of saying praise words, I acted like I was unaffected when the truth is... my heart is going wild.
Tahimik lang kami sa biyahe, Diana focused her gazes on the view outside though there's nothing much dahil masyadong mabilis ang pagpapatakbo ko sa sasakyan, she didn't mind though at parang nasanay na rin siya sa bilis.
Sa isang resort namin ang venue ng auction party, it took us one hour before getting there. Lumabas na ako, si Diana naman ay nanatili sa loob at parang may hinihintay. "Won't you go out?" Takang tanong ko.
She scowled, halatang na-disappoint naman before opening the car's door and stomping her feet out, doon ko napagtanto na baka in-expect niya na pagbubuksan ko siya ng pinto like all the cliché books and movies does.
Her eyes wondered the place and it landed on the beach, kuminang ang kanyang mga mata, she must love the beach so much.
Tumikhim ako't pinulupot ko ang kamay ko sa kanyang bewang, hindi kumawala si Diana so I decided to walk while we are on it, dumiretso kami sa reception hall ng resort, medyo malaki naman ito and it can accomodate five hundred people.
Maraming tables sa gilid at may malaking espasyo sa gitna which I suppose is the dancefloor, hinanap ng mga mata ko sina Dad at Mom, it didn't take me long enough because I saw them plastered on a table, kasama nila ang mga magulang ni Diana.
Naglakad kami ni Diana papunta roon, eyes wandered on my woman and some curious who she is, hindi pa pala naa-announce ang engagement namin, why not throw an engagement party? I almost forgot those things.
"Hijo, hija," Tita-parent of Diana-greeted with a smile, she looked delight to finally see her daughter. Tumayo siya at niyakap si Diana kaya naman natanggal ang pagkapulupot ng kamay ko sa kanyang bewang, pati na rin si Tito ay nakisali at mukhang naiiyak na silang tatlo.
Umupo na kaming lahat, syempre sa tabi ko si Diana, sina Mom at Dad naman ay nakangisi sa akin, sinimangutan ko lang sila.
"In a few minutes, we will be starting the auction party." Saad ng emcee sa makeshift stage ng reception hall, "but before anything else, we would like to thank our sponsor for letting the venue of the party be here, let's give a warm round of applause to Montejarre Empire!" Nagpalakpakan ang mga tao.
Biglang bumalik ang tunog ng musika, naging maingay ulit ang silid, si Diana naman ay parang hindi naging komportable sa paligid, I secretly slid my hand on the back of her palm to comfort her, may pag-aalinlangan siyang tumingin sa akin.
I smiled at her encouragingly, natigilan siya saka siya umiwas ng tingin, she removed my hand that was on top of her hand, umusog siya ng kaunti palayo sa akin.

Diana POV
Habang tumatagal ay mas lalong rumarami ang mga taong dumalo sa auction party at mas lalong nagiging maingay ang reception room, I'm not really good at handling crowds kaya naman napaka-uncomfortable ko ngayon.
It's not like I'm claustrophobic, I just hate noisy places with a lot of people. Hindi ako sanay, rather.
"I'm going to the powder room." Pagpapaalam ko sa mga magulang namin ni Trevor, hindi ko alam pero iyon ang unang lugar na pumasok sa isip ko, magpapahangin lang ako, sana walang tao sa CR.
