(Erin's Point of View)

I laughed as Ryan threw a top at me. I'd told him to tidy up our bedroom but he took that as a cue to start throwing his clothes and pillows at me.

"Ryan stop it! The sooner you finish this the sooner we can get in bed and watch a movie." I said and threw the top back at him. He countered it with a pillow and stuffed the top into the washing basket.

"Okay, I'll finish up downstairs in the kitchen and you can sort this out? Fair enough?" he said. I nodded and stood up off our bed and started to pick up the scattered clothes which had been thrown. I heard him clattering around downstairs in the kitchen and then heard a smash.

"Ryan!" I shouted, knowing he'd broke a glass or possibly several knowing him.

"What?" he called back up. "Shit." I heard him say.

"What have you broken?" I asked putting the last of the clothes in the washing basket and heading out the room to go downstairs. I got to the kitchen before he could answer. He'd broken two glasses he'd clearly been trying to put away in the cupboard.

"Next time you can take the kitchen. Not only did I break two glasses but I cut my finger." he said and went to the sink to wash his finger. He winced in pain as the water hit it but after a moment under the running water he pulled it away. I opened a drawer and pulled out the small first aid kit we had. I opened it and searched through it for a bandage. I found it and took it out, putting the kit away and turning to Ryan.

"Let me see it." I said. He held his hand out to me and carefully wrapped his finger up.

"Want to maybe kiss it better?" he said winking. I rolled my eyes and kissed his finger before turning to look for the dust pan and brush. "Babe, I'll clear it up." he said. I shook my head.

"No because you've already cut yourself once. Don't want it happening again." I said and found them. I started to sweep up the broken glass and then wrapped it up before putting it in the bin. I put the brush and dust pan away before turning to Ryan.

"Ready to go up now?" he asked, holding his hand out to me. I took it and he led me back up the stairs to our bedroom. I picked up a pillow I had missed and set it on he foot of our bed. I climbed under the quilts with Ryan and we settled down to watch TV instead of a movie before bed.

I sighed as for the second night in a row I couldn't sleep. I honestly had no idea how uncomfortable it was to be pregnant and try to get to sleep when you had a bump in the way. Fair enough my bump wasn't huge yet but still. I quietly and carefully got out of bed without waking Ryan up. I pulled on a pair of joggers and one of Ryan's hoody's before making my way down the stairs. I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and settled in front of the TV. There was absolutely nothing on seeing as it was two in the morning. I kept flicking through the channels before I gave up and just left it on a random programme I didn't even know of. I picked my phone up and sent Joanne a text. I knew she also hadn't been able to sleep. Well she hadn't slept last night despite having a long day of waiting to go into labour which never happened.

To Joanne: You awake? x

I instantly got a reply and opened it up.

From Joanne: Yes, can't sleep because of baby kicking x

I gave a sympathetic smile to the phone as if she could see it. I felt sorry for her, she'd been waiting the whole day for something to happen yet she was still pregnant.

To Joanne: Fancy going for a late night walk? x

I got a reply back saying yes and she'd meet me outside her house. I pulled on my shoes and as quietly as I could I unlocked the door and headed out. I had my phone on me anyway and I knew if Ryan woke up, which he wouldn't, he'd just text or call to see where I was. The walk to Joanne's place didn't take long and I found her stood at the end of their driveway wearing one of Joel's zip up hoody's which obviously couldn't be zipped due to her baby bump. She smiled when I reached her and hugged me.

"You can't sleep either huh?" she said as we started walking down the street. If both our husbands knew that their pregnant wives were out at this time of night walking they'd probably have a heart attack. Joel more so seeing as Joanne could literally go into labour at any moment.

"No, I'm struggling to get comfortable enough to fall asleep now." I said and sighed.

"Been there." she said with a small laugh. We came to a stop at the park which sat between both of our streets and headed over to the bench. Joanne sighed in relief when she sat down.

"Happy for a seat?" I asked laughing. She nodded and laughed, leaning back. "I can't believe you're a day overdue now." I said.

"Neither can I. We have to go for a scan in a few days if nothing happens. I'm hoping something does though." she explained.

"Hopefully." I said. I reached a hand over and put it on her stomach. "Hurry up baby because I want to meet my godson." I laughed and was met with a kick. Joanne just laughed and rubbed the spot where he'd kicked.

"Yeah and daddy and I want to meet our son." she added. We sat in silence for a few minutes, just listening to the silence around us.

"Can you honestly believe we're both pregnant at the same time? I mean yeah we're not both the same amount of months pregnant but still." I said laughing. She shook her head in disbelief.

"I honestly can't. I mean our kids will grow up together. There's only going to be a few months between then." she pointed out.

"True. I can't wait for our little girl to be here." I said putting a hand on my own stomach.

"Hopefully you're child is better than mine and shows up on time. This one clearly takes after Joel. I mean he's late, the baby's late." she said. I turned to her and smiled.

"Must be in the Peat genes." I said. We sat talking for a while longer before we decided to head back, mainly because Joanne was starting to yawn constantly. We took our time walking, keeping a comfortable pace but soon enough we were back in front of her house. I pulled her in for a hug.

"Thanks Erin. This actually helped a lot. I'm super tired now and so is the baby. He hasn't kicked since we were on the bench." she said laughing.

"No problem, helped me to. Can't wait to get back into the house and fall asleep. Night." I said as she started walking up the path. She turned as she got to the front door and waved.

"Night Fletcher." she smiled. I waved back and turned to head back home. Clearly late night walks were a good thing to help me get tired.
