(Joel's Point of View)

I stood in the doorway of Joanne's room and smiled. We were back in Nottingham for the weekend and both our parents were throwing a huge Christmas party for our family and friends. I watched as she sat in front of her old dressing table and fixed her hair and make up. Eight months pregnant and she still looked gorgeous. I made my way into the room holding two different ties in each hand.

"Babe what tie do you think I should wear?" I asked. She turned her ghd's off and turned to face me.

"Neither. I like that outfit the way it is." she said before turning back to the mirror. I stood behind her and watched her in the mirror.

"You look beautiful." I said. She frowned at me.

"Joel I'm eight months pregnant. Beautiful is the last thing I look." she mumbled before standing up to walk over to her suitcase and pulled out the dress she was going to wear.

"You're only just eight months babe. You look stunning to me okay?" I said pulling her over to me and leaning down to kiss her. She pulled away and stepped out of my grip.

"Okay, now leave so I can get changed into this dress." she said, pushing me out the door. I turned back to her before she closed it.

"If you need help getting the zip up just shout me." I said before heading down the hall to Josh's room. I opened the door and found him fiddling with a tie.

"What's up?" he asked. I held the ties up.

"Don't need any of these. Joanne said this looks better without a tie." I said and put the ties down on his bed.

"You're so lucky you don't have to wear one. My mum's telling me I have to wear one." he said and finally left the tie alone.

"Well Josh, that's the benefit of being a grown up." I said laughing even though he was 19 and technically an adult.

"Yeah well sadly I'm still at uni so still living here where my mum has the final say. I bet Joanne isn't as bad as her when you two are at home in London." he said. I laughed and shook my head.

"Well kind of. Sometimes she makes me change my entire outfit before we go out." I said.

"Oh really?" I heard from behind me. I saw the smirk on Josh's face.

"Someone's in deep shit now." he said before walking out his room. I turned around and smiled at Joanne.

"I never meant it in a bad way. I just mean with your hormones right now. You know I love you." I said putting my arms around her. She raised an eyebrow at me.

"Nice save Peat." she mumbled before we headed down the stairs. I grabbed both of our coats before heading out to the car. Her parents and Josh followed us out and went over to her dad's car and got in. I helped Joanne into our car and got in myself. I waited until her dad pulled out of the driveway then I done the same and followed closely behind as we drove to the hall they had rented for the party. I watched from the corner of my eye as Joanne shuffled in her seat.

"Babe you okay?" I asked and reached over putting my hand on top of hers for a brief moment before I put it back on the steering wheel.

"Yeah, just can't get comfortable in the seat. They should really tell people how uncomfortable you become in the third trimester." she said folding her arms on top of her bump.
