"Don't ignore my texts ever again..."
I looked at Junhong who came over and stood behind me. He read the note over my shoulder.
"Who did this?" Youngjae asked looking around the room in shock. I gulped. I couldn't tell them it was Yongguk. Getting the cops on this rebel is probably the last thing I'd want to do. You never know how he'll react.
"I never ignored anyone's text..." Junhong said looking at me. I could see that he knew what I knew.
"That's strange..." I said as I handed the note over to Youngjae.
"I'll take that to work and I'll see if that person has left any fingerprints." Youngjae announced to Junhong. I walked over to the window to see if there were any fingerprints on the window pane.
"He or she had gloves on. It's pointless. You'll only waste your time." I said to Youngjae, still examining the glass. As I turned around I caught him staring at me.
"What? Check for yourelf, there's no fingerprints on the window." I said as he walked towards the window to see.
"Great. Well done, Amber. You should ty to get to the bottom of this with me. Wanna try?" Youngjae asked. I nodded. I don't need to try, I already know who it was but maybe I'll find out what his point was.
"Junhong, check if anything was actually stolen or destroyed. This might help to find that person 'cause it'll be easier to match the motive with a person. I'll try to make a list of suspects while Youngjae will try to find something that will help identify the pers--"
"Marry me." Youngjae cut me off.
"What?!" I was suprised as hell. Why would he all of the sudden say tha-- Oh... yeah my detective skills aren't perfect but they're alright. Junhong and I were staring at Youngjae, who has just realised what he said.
"Shit... I didn't mean to... Aish nevermind. What are you staring at, Junhong?! Get to work!" Youngjae ordered. Junhong nodded and started going through his stuff, organising it neatly again, checking every piece of paper and every corner of the room to see if anything is missing. I went downstairs and explained what happened to Mr and Mrs Choi. After that I took a piece of paper and a pen and... I couldn't think of anyone... Except Yongguk but I couldn't give him away. It's hard to work against myself. Fuck it. I thought and wrote Youngguk's full name on the piece of paper. But honestly, why would he be a suspect? I went upstairs to tell the boys who it was. I heard them talking so I walked slowly and quietly. I stood behing the door to hear what they were saying."He took the contract i signed with her mother... The one where I said I'll look after her so she'll stop cutting by being friends with her. he also took the money she gave me for it. Who could it be?!" ...Silence... "Yongguk. It was Bang Yong Guk. Shit... If he shows all that to Amber... I don't even want to know how she'll react."
Tears began rolling down my face. I went downstairs quietly, put on my shoes and a jacket, took my phone and left the house. I slammed the door as hard as I could and ran away as fast and as far as possible. I ran towards the forest. I took my phone out of my pocket, chose the contact and brought the phone up to my ear.
"Hello?" - Yongguk
"Meet me by the forest. bring the documents that you stole. And the money too." - Amber
"Yes ma'am" - Yongguk
I ended the call and waited for Yongguk. Just then, I saw someone running towards me. I thought it was Yongguk but I was wrong. The guy that ran towards me came quickly and fell into my arms for a hug. i wanted to push him away but he held on too tightly.
"Let her go!" I heard a voice yell. Yongguk ran up to us and pulled Junhong away from me he pushed him away to a safe distance and handed over the contract and money to me. I looked at Junhong who was standing there with his eyes wide open. I gave him the you-fucking-liar stare. I grabbed Yongguk's hand who also looked suprised then and I gave him a signal to walk away from Junhong with me. We left him standing there like a tree. Yongguk took me to his house. He lived in a pretty big apartament with modern furniture. All couches in the livingroom were made out of leather. Wooden planks were used for the floor, walls were black and white, and There was a 50" TV hanging on the wall. He took me to his room. Everything was white. Carpet, walls, bed, furniture, sheets, flower pots, everything. Even the orchids were white. Except the leaves, which were green of course. His room looked extremally clean and spotless. He told me to sit on the bed. He gave me tissues to wipe away my tears. I counted the money. Suprisingly, it wasn't won, but GBP. Almost £20,000 in cash.
"I guess my mother wanted to help me..." I said quietly. "But having fake friends is bullshit, not help..." I groaned in anger. Yongguk nodded.
"What are you going to do now?" He asked with his calming, deep voice.
"I don't know. I can't go back to Junhong's house. I don't have any other so called friends either. My whole family is in Poland... I guess I'll have to sleep on the street for one night. And tomorrow I'll try to figuire out what I should do next." I said. Yongguk was staring at me as if I was speaking in a different language.
"No way. You'll stay here." He ordered.
"I can't!" I raised my voice at him.
"Shut up and stay here! You won't sleep on the street. Not even for a night!"
"And why do you care anyway?! Why did you take this contract and all this money?! How did you know about it in the first place?" I shouted at him. He stood up from his chair and quickly walked up to me. He's intimidating, I must admit that.
"You need to stop asking so many questions! Go to sleep. You've been through a lot today." He said calmly. "You can sleep in this bed. I'll have the couch for tonight." he left the room. I took off my jacket and my shoes. I ended up sleeping in my pants and my bra only. I cried myself to sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about Junhong. How could he betray me like that?! I thought he was my friend. I should have listened to daddy when he said "Don't trust anyone." He used to say that almost every day to protect me from people like Junhong. But it was my mother's fault. If she didn't hire him, everything would've been alright...
