"No." I refused instantly.
"But Naruto! Just lis-"
"No."
"This time I made sure I-"
"No." That was Spanish, by the way, can you tell?
"Naruto."
"Nein." German.
I think.
"What? No, Naruto please, I know it's hard for you but -"
"Nah." Lazy and casual.
The man sniffled, stood up, and stomped his foot in frustration. "What did I do to deserve a son like this?! Ibiki!"
Ibiki sighed before moving away from where he stood and handing my father a tissue. He looked down at me, silently pleading me to agree just to shut my dad up.
Very funny, Ibiki, but joke's on you: I'm not agreeing to anything.
"...and the diaper changes! After all our father-son moments, you can't even agree to go with me on this one trip?!"
Was my dad still talking?
"Dad, it's not that I don't want to go with you, its just that I don't want go with you."
Ibiki widened his eyes towards me and shook his head quickly. He sighed and cringed as my father's sobbing rose to a louder volume and the complaining began.
"Actually no, I take that back."
Dad stopped and looked at me with a hopeful expression.
"I simply just don't want to go." I crushed his hopes as I restated my statement.
"Ibiki! Naruto says he won't go with me!"
"Sir, can we please do this sometime else; he's in school." Ibiki glared at me and all I could offer was a smile. "Sir." He sighed. "Maybe you should stop."
Poor Ibiki didn't know what he signed up for when he became my dad's bodyguard.
"But Ibiki!"
"Dad, maybe we can talk about this later. I think Kakashi's mad at you." I grabbed the tissue he held and wiped his face. "There. I love you, dad."
Instantly, dad stopped sobbing and looked at me with a smile on his face and teary eyes. "Really? You mean it?"
"Yes, now be a good father and leave my classroom. I promise we'll talk about this at home." I watched as my dad smiled at me and I smiled back.
Oh, how I loved my father, but honestly, he was too overprotective and obviously sensitive towards me. I wonder, was my mother calm? Maybe I resembled her more in personality.
I mean, imagine me being like my dad: stubborn, a child, and practically annoying. Horrific, right?
"But..." He lowered his voice, looking towards the front where Sasuke sat. "...under no circumstance is he to know. The Uchihas can't know anything about me or this, okay? Stay away from him. I'll have Genma pick you up and— I love you son! I'll see you later!" His voice faded down the hall as Ibiki finally dragged him away.
The class looked back at me in silence and Kakashi seemed to be pondering his choice in career as he eyed me with curiosity. "Done?" He asked, clearly annoyed.
"Wait a bit." I said, crossing my arms and leaning back on my chair.
As expected, Dad had escaped Ibiki's grip and ran back into the classroom, setting an envelope on my desk, kissing my forehead, and running back to the stressed out bodyguard.
