So... you know that yacht mom supposedly bought?
Yeah... let's just say that the yacht... isn't so much of a yacht anymore.
I mean, it is, but...
"Isn't anyone going to put out the fire?" Kankuro asked, standing by my side with his lips pursed into a curious frown and head tilted to the side, arms crossed as if he had absolutely nothing to do with this... tragic event.
I turned to him, face completely blank. "I don't know, Kankuro, is there really a point in putting it out if the burning object is already floating on water?"
Kankuro blinked for a merry second, then had his eyes wide open in some sort of glorious revelation. "I should really pay attention in class."
"Oh my gods, Kankuro, you don't say!" I shouted, throwing my hands up and turning away from the crowd forming on the dock to take pictures or record the entire thing.
Iconic.
But those idiots! All of them! Especially this one who was the one responsible for all of this: Kankuro!
Yeah, you heard right! This is all his fault! I get that he was trying to cheer me up, but did he have to go full-on kid mode and play around with the buttons like that? One second I'm following him and the next I'm jumping out into the water because some idiot somehow managed to blow up the yacht. Who even thought this was safe?! There's a reason deserts don't have man-made lakes!
"Your mom's not going to mind," Kankuro said, waving his hand as if it was no big deal. Then, with a fearful look on his face, he stopped all movement and slowly turned to face me. "Is she?"
I sighed, walking away from the scene. Kankuro followed, repeating the same question while all I thought of was what my mother had said previously to this disaster.
"Hey, Naruto!" Kankuro groaned, grabbing my arm and turning me around. "I go it!" He said. "We'll just take care of the mess before she finds out." I stared at him, dumbfounded as he slapped his fist on the palm of his hand.
"And how exactly do you think we're going to hide that?" I asked, pointing towards the yacht in flames.
"Okay, so we grab a shovel and bury all we can in the schoolyard, easy, right? And then—"
Was this guy for real?!
"First off, let me stop you there," I said, holding up a finger. "Why is burying the yacht the first thing that comes to mind?" I asked because I mean, really? That's such a Kiba thing to suggest.
Kankuro shrugged and looked down at his feet. "That's what Kiba always does." I raised an eyebrow. "I mean, Baki's surprise pop quiz is buried underneath the main tree in the courtyard. You can thank him for that because literally no one saw that one coming and none of us studied."
Of course Kiba would do something like this. Only Kiba.
I sighed. "Whatever, there's no point in hiding it anyways. She'll find out eventually and sooner or later, your head will be served on a silver platter." I said, scaring the boy before walking back to the small café we were previously at before my mother had made her appearance.
I looked at the time on my phone, realizing there were only three more hours before it was time for dad's extravagant dinner.
"Naruto!" I could hear my mom calling me as both her and Kiba walked out of the masseuse parlor. Kankuro immediately avoided sitting on the same table as me and sat over on another table, pretending nothing had happened and... trying to not look suspicious? Whatever.
