"Wake up, Naruto... It's rise and shine—" The man, before saying anything else, shut his mouth and looked over to his precious wife. "Is it really rise and shine?"
Kushina rubbed her chin in thought. "Sounds about right..."
"Because, I mean, it's not technically shining outside— it could be raining for all we know."
"We should check the weather." Kushina suggested. "Where's my pho—"
"Are you guys seriously this lazy to just go and look out the window? And can one of you please tell me what exactly you're doing in my room?" I asked them, completely aware they were behind me and sitting on the edge of my bed.
"Hold on, sweetie, your father and I are addressing a very important issue here." Mother ignored me, unaware that their only son—me—was now sitting up in bed and staring at them as they rubbed their chins in wonder. "Rise and pour?" She asked, typing away on her phone.
Dad shook his head. "That wouldn't make sense, even if it were raining."
"Alright," Mom crossed her arms, "then what about... hey, you smell that?" She looked up and sniffed. "Cake."
"Cake?" Dad perked his head up and looked at her with a smile on his face, as if he suddenly had an idea and he took her hands in his. "Cake! We should have cake!"
"Yes!" Mom laughed, hugging dad as they began planning some sort of event where cake would be the main dish. And you guys call me childish.
I told you, I'm the only responsible adult between these two children.
"It's Monday, isn't it?" I asked, speaking over their planning.
"Naruto!" Dad pounced on me. "You're awake!" He pointed out with a cheery smile.
"Of course I am." I groaned.
"Rise and—"
"I get it, dad, I'm up."
"It's bright outside, so you know what that means!" Dad said and not once—not since starting their conversation about the phrase—did dad ever get up to check if it was in fact sunny outside. Hell, even I knew it wasn't sunny outside—it was four in the freaking morning!
I groaned, wanting to go back to sleep.
"Now, now," Mom began. "It was my fault you and your friends didn't get to leave for Suna yesterday. So now, we have to hurry up and leave. Suna's five hours away by car and this is as early as we could get you to wake up." She whispered and I could feel her lips closing in over my cheek. I smiled, mom's kisses had always brought this warm and cozy feeling. "That being said, we're making the trip in three."
"What?" I sat up. Was my mother crazy? Wait, this is her we're talking about, of course she is— wait a minute. "Mom, I don't think that's legally pos—"
"Nonsense." Mom lifted a hand. "We're taking the helicopter." She stated.
"We're what?" Both dad and I asked in unison.
And I don't know about you guys, but when mother dearest say something, she whole-heartedly means it. So, that being said, when I got up and out of bed, raced dad towards the window and looked outside, we were kind of surprised that, yes: there was indeed a helicopter somehow miraculously stationed outside our neighbourhood. The neighbours themselves were either looking out their window in surprise or walking out to either marvel or shout about the giant vehicle stationed outside on the road.
"D-dear," Dad began, nervously chuckling as he approached my mother while I stayed by the window in shock. "Isn't this too much? We could always—"
