Chapter 11

"Guys, as much as I don’t want to break your staring-at-each-other-like-fools moment pero I think we need to go" Cheska told them while checking her watch.

Nasa isang fastfood chain sila sa loob ng isang mall at kakatapos lang kumain. Earlier, the three of them went to see a movie.

Julie pretended to glare at Cheska, “Excuse me? We’re not fools"

“Yes we are babe. Fools in love" RJ said dramatically.

“Babe ang baduy mo" Julie slapped him gently on his cheek, they both laughed.

“Buti naman at alam nyo" Cheska said jokingly as she checked herself in her compact mirror.

“Sagutin mo na kasi yung isa sa mga manliligaw mo, you can’t be single forever" RJ teased, lifting up his eyebrows at Cheska.

“Ouch! Sige lang RJ, rub it in" she shoved her compact mirror inside her bag at umirap pa ito.

“Sissy why don’t you give Alex a chance? He likes you" pagbibiro ni Julie sa kaibigan.

“Not a bad idea. Seriously Cheska he’s been dying to have a date with you" RJ seconded.

“Your friend? Wag na rin. Alex’ type is not my type" Cheska folded her hand across her chest.

Julie copied her gesture, “What do you mean Alex’ type?"

“Ano pa eh di player, feeling gwapo, well he’s not bad looking din naman pero mayabang, ang lakas ng bilib sa sarili" Cheska emphasized.

“Alam mo, first impression mo lang yan. Hindi mo pa naman nakikilala yung tao" RJ contradicted.

“Tama, he’s actually cool—"

Cheska interrupted her, “I’ll just have to say this. Me and Alex? Not gonna happen" she gave them a fake smile.

RJ and Julie exchanged knowing glances and just shrug their shoulders.

“Okay, love birds it’s time to go" Cheska said at tumayo na ito.

Her friend had just made herself clear. She’s the type who knows what she wants or dislikes and she’ll say it straight to your face. Maaaring may development na sa pagitan nito at ng ex boyfriend na hindi pa nito naikukwento. She decided to just ask Cheska about it privately. Tumayo na rin sila at naglakad palabas ng food chain.

Cheska bumped into a girl.

“Sorry" she apologized.

The girl didn’t say anything but from her face expression she seemed a bit annoyed. She then looked up and saw them.

“RJ!" her face brightened up. She went to RJ and hugged him.

Cheska looked at Julie with surprise and confusion. Humihingi ito sa kanya ng eksplanasyon kung bakit may babaeng bigla na lang yumakap sa nobyo niya.

“Chrissy" RJ awkwardly withdrew from their hug, “kelan ka pa dumating?" he took a step back away from her.

“I just arrived yesterday. I told you the last time we talked didn’t I? Gosh, it has been what? Six months since I left. I’ve missed you" Chrissy was beaming at him then she looked at her, “Julie right?"

She nodded and gave her a polite smile.

“And so I’ve heard. You two are still together" Chrissy tried to sound excited and happy.

“Almost five months and going stronger" Cheska butted in.

Julie nudged her friend dahil sa pagsabat nito sa usapan. She gave her the look saying ‘umayos ka’ but Cheska ignored her, instead she looked Chrissy up and down giving her a quick once over or inspection.
