Chapter 13

"No I didn’t follow you dahil dito ako nakatira. I own a condo unit here"

Lianne’s mouth fell open. She felt the blood drained out of her face. Alden was looking at her with what seems like a self-satisfied smirk which annoyed her.

She quickly regained her composure. She wont let him have the satisfaction of knowing he embarassed her. Hindi siya magpapatalo dito.

“Alden this is insane, you moved in to this condominium para lang sun—"

“I know what you are implying" Alden cut her off, “Hindi kita sinundan. I don’t even have an idea that you have a unit here until now. And besides mas nauna ako sa’yo, I have been living here for two years"

“Really now? More than one week na ko dito then why have I not seen you once?" Lianne directly asked.

“So ikaw yung bagong lipat sa unit sa eight floor" it was a conclusion, not a question.

“How did you know about that? Are you stalking me?" she put her hands on her hips.

He chuckled, “I’m definitely not a stalker" he leaned against his car and amusedly looked at her, “And I have learned just now that we are next-door neighbors"

Lianne was astounded by what he said, “Unit 803?" she asked in a low voice, more like a whisper.

The smug look on Alden’s expression answered her question. She’s in 804 at magkatabi lang ang mga unit nila.

“I haven’t seen you in awhile. Malayo kasi ang location ng taping namin.."

Now she knew why palaging walang tao sa katabing pintuan niya. Alden owns the unit and he was away, he was busy taping for his new tv series. And her job at the office ate most of her time that’s why there was no chance for them to see each other.

“I’m sorry if I wasn’t able to welcome you when you moved in. I hope it’s not too late now for a small welcome party" he taunted her deliberately.

She looked up at him sharply, joy was registered on his face like this was some kind of entertainment for him. She wanted to retaliate but thought better of it.

“Ughh!" she cried out in frustration. Lianne turned on her heels and quickly stomped her way inside the building. Her annoyance was tripled when his rich laughter filled the air.

Alden couldn’t help but laugh as he watch Lianne hurriedly walking away hanggang sa makapasok ito sa loob ng building. The expression on her face was priceless. And she looked so cute when she’s annoyed.

He was really surprised nang malaman niya na dito din ito nakatira at magkatabi pa ang mga unit nila. The thought that he’s just near her brought joy but it also worried him. He was not sure if he can sleep soundly every night knowing only a concrete wall separated them.

He was stunned when he saw her earlier, looking so sophisticated and attractive. Clearly there was no trace of the old Julie he loved. She transformed into a very beautiful, fine lady, a matured and confident woman. Lianne looked good being dressed like that. No, she will actually look so good even without much effort.

Earlier he felt a whirlpool of conflicting emotions when he saw Lianne with another guy. They were engaged in an intimate conversation. A surge of jealousy crept through him upon seeing their tangled hands. And the moment he heard that Sam is her boyfriend, flickers of pain, disappointment and heartbreak caught him.

He knew he shouldn’t feel that way. In the first place, wala siyang karapatang magselos dahil wala ng anumang namamagitan sa kanila. He’s with Madi now. They have been together for more than a year but their relationship was not smooth sailing, it had always been rocky. They were on and off. His mom approves of her so much and that’s basically the main reason why they are still together.
