Chapter 15

She blinked a few times, dazzled by the morning sunlight through her window. She didn't know how long that ray of sunlight had been peeking through the gap of her orange and white striped curtain until it found its way to her face.

Lianne stretched her arms wide and let out a long yawn. She turned to her side, avoiding the sunlight and feeling the comfort of her silk sheet and soft bed. She hugged her pillow and closed her eyes. Then she heard a low humming somewhere.

She opened her eyes, nakapatay naman ang tv niya at wala ring radyo na tumutugtog. When her eyes scanned her room napansin niya na nakabukas pala ang pinto ng kwarto niya.

Then she heard the humming again, it was a male's voice and it seemed near. She tried to make out who the intruder was.

Sam. She quickly sat on her bed and looked at the digital clock on her bedside table. 7:19am. What is he doing here this early? Pano ito nakapasok sa condo niya?

Checking she was dressed in a decent pajama, she got up from her bed to go to him.

"Good morning princess" Sam greeted her cheerfully as he walk inside her room. "Hey, just stay in bed"

"Huh? Bakit?" napatigil si Lianne sa pagbaba sa kama. "Wait lang, bakit sobrang aga mo and how did you get in?"

"Ako maaga? No" with arms crossed he continued, "Hindi naman ako umuwi, I spent the night here"

"What?" her brows and forehead creased at the same time.

"What's with that look?" he laughed. "Relax Lianne, we didn't do anything"

Lianne's thoughts travelled back to last night. Almost seven na siya nakabalik mula sa location ng shooting ng movie ni Alden and Sam was already waiting for her in the parking lot. He was really worried about her because he couldnt reach her phone and there was no way he could contact her. Hindi na rin naman siya nakitext kay Arnie dahil hindi niya kabisado ang number ni Sam. All she wanted to do was to get home the soonest at magpahinga. Hindi na rin kasi maganda ang pakiramdam niya noon.

She invited Sam in and relayed everything that happened except the parts where she and Alden were left alone. Sam volunteered to cook dinner while she took a quick, warm shower and changed into her sleeping clothes.

They had dinner but she didn't really have the appetite. After eating, they stayed on the couch to watch tv while she let Sam talk about his day.

She remembered feeling cold that Sam let her cuddle up with him. The next thing she remember is waking up in her bed.

"You fell asleep on the couch so I carried you to bed. Hindi kita maiwan coz you were feverish kaya pinainom kita ng gamot and I waited for your temperature to go down. It was late so I decided na dito na matulog"

She just stared at him with a confused expression. Nagkasakit siya dahil matagal din silang nababad sa ulan.

"Dun ako natulog sa sofa but I constantly check on you" he sat on the edge of the bed.

"I'm sorry if I got you worried Sam, tapos napuyat ka pa ng dahil sakin" she was apologetic dahil sa malaking abala niya dito.

Sam grinned, "It's part of my boyfriend duties. Are you feeling better now?" he touched her forehead with his hand. "Wala na"

"Yeah, I'm actually feeling great. Magaling kasi ang nurse ko" she said lightly.

"But that doesnt mean you can go back to work, you need to rest. Now be a good patient and listen to your nurse" tumayo na ito.

"Just stay there and I'll be right back"

Lianne grinned and it stayed on her face as she watched Sam walk out of her room.
