Damon's P.O.V

I didn't even know where I was. All of my anger must have been used up to get to this place, I wasn't mad anymore. I wasn't hurt anymore. I was completely fine. The one thing that was bugging me was the fact I didn't even feel like I'd been walking here. I was in a wooded area, all I could see were trees, trees and more trees. Great, I was lost. I patted down my jean pockets, searching for my phone. I did the same with my leather jacket pockets, only to discover my phone was not on me. Even better. The only hope I had left was using my instincts. I closed my eyes and listened for what I wanted to here. Birds, nope, the wind, not really, ducks in a pond, err no, people... Lots of people, jackpot. I was hungry, a little snack would me some good. I turned in the direction of the noise and trudged through the messy mud.

Suddenly I heard a kind of swooshing behind my back that any human would mistake for the wind. But I wasn't human. I turned quickly, but there was nothing there. Focusing on my hearing again, all I could get was the same boring sounds. I shrugged and turned around. But there was someone there. He wore a posh suit with a black tie, his shoes were squeaky clean despite the environment we were in. As I looked up and down him, his face came into my vision. I knew him, oh snap. He raised an eyebrow at me and smirked, grabbing my neck with both hands and twisting it to the left until he heard a satisfying 'snap' noise.

Brilliant, I was lost, hungry, and dead. For now.

Elena's P.O.V

I was sat at my kitchen table with Caroline, Alaric, Jeremy and Stefan. Each of us racking our brains with constant ideas of the whereabouts of Damon.

"I know it's an obvious place, but what about the grill?" Jeremy suggested.

"I've called Matt and asked, he said he hasn't seen anything of Damon for days." I sighed, leaning back on my chair.

"Well, his car's still here so he couldn't have gone far." Stefan said, trying to make me feel better.

"Yeah, Elena. He's probably just clearing his head." Caroline agreed, reaching for my hand.

"But anything could've happened. He could be lost, or hurt or... Or dead!" I started to worry again.

"Elena, be serious. It's very very rare that a vampire as strong as Damon couldn't defend himself. He's probably not even outside of Virginia." Alaric interrupted.

"I guess you're right. He's probably fine." I fake smiled, for the one hundred and seventeenth time today. A furious knock started to echo from the hall, it took me a few seconds to realise someone was knocking on the door. "I'll get it." I got up and quickly walked to the door. Stefan followed me. I think he was hoping for it to be the same person I was hoping. But it wasn't.

"Elijah?" I said confused. What was he doing here?

"Hello again." He replied, his accent stronger than ever.

"What do you want?" Stefan butted in, standing in front of me.

"Well not much, I do want you to help me get your unconscious brother out of my car though." Elijah replied.

"Damon!" I almost screeched, running towards Elijah's car. "Is he okay?"

"Oh he's fine, I've only been breaking his neck for three hours."

"What why?" Stefan asked.

"Well, it seems your brother has been compelled. By who, I have not the slightest idea."

"Someone from your family by the sounds of it." I told him.

"Well of course, no one else could possibly compel him. He has no clue how he got to where he was, he just wanted me to stop the car so he could feed from someone. I had no choice but to silence him. " Elijah explained. "My suspicions  point towards to Klaus. He is in the area after all."

"Can you open the door?" I asked Elijah, pulling at the car door handle. The lock ticked open and Stefan went to help me carry Damon inside.

I was suddenly very happy, and also very confused. Why was Klaus trying to get Damon out of town?
