Hey guys, I know the last chapter was a bit of a shock! I even shocked myself as I wrote it and re-read it. I just want to share some important information that should make you feel better about the death of one of the Salvatore's. Basically what I've done is try to set up a storyline for the second book (which I hope you guys would like me to write). I'm not going to say anything else about the death, but hopefully that should make you feel better, and it will most likely make you question what will happen next. Molly xxx
Elena's P.O.V
I sat down on the couch braiding Caroline's hair as hse sucked the life out of one of the last blood bags that Damon bought back with him. There wasn't really anything to dow ith the others gone so we both decided to have some girly time. Caroline had just styled my hair up in a bun on the top of my head, I was now doing the same style to her hair, only with braids. I smiled, the braiding was going better than I expected. Suddenly my phone started to buzz none stop.
"One sec, Caroline." I told her, holding all the little braids I'd finished in one hand as I got my phone out of my pocket. "It's Bonnie." I answered the phone, everything must've gone to plan.
"Hey Bon, how did it go?" I asked, Caroline put a hand up to her ear so she could listen in with her vampire hearing. "What...? Oh my God... What do you mean dead? No... I'll be there as soon as I can." I hung up, both mine and Caroline's faces were grief stricken. What this really happening?
"Matt! Tyler! We need to go, something's happened... Something bad." Caroline shouted, trying to hold back her tears. I was doing the same, but failing miserably. I let the tears pour out as I stood in silence, staring into space. Caroline explained to Matt and Tyler with a shaky voice as they paused their Xbox game and slipped their shoes on their feet. They were both guys, holding their emotions was easier for them. You could see the pain in their eyes, but no tears fell. Tyler put an arm around Caroline and hugged her tight. Matt smiled at me through his obvious shocked pain and copied Tyler with putting an arm around me. We set off to find them.
Jeremy's P.O.V
"Bonnie..." I whispered, staring at Klaus who towered over us with a vengeful grin plastered on his face. I clenched a steak tightly in my hand for defence.
"Don't, Jer. We've lost." She whispered back. "There's no use." She removed the steak from my hand and placed it next to her on the cold woody floor.
"I'd listen to your witch, Gilbert boy. Face it, you've lost. I'll always be one step ahead, maybe even two steps. You can't defeat me, I don't even know why you try." Klaus told me, his British accent husky. He held up the heart in his hand. "Because this is the consequence. You've lost a dear friend tonight because he did not listen. He went against the rules."
"We don't have to listen to you Klaus. You might be the big bad hybrid, but I'm not scared of you. You may have torn my friends and family a part. But now I realise why, it's because you don't have any friends or family of your own. So you destroy ours, because you're jealous that we have the one thing you never will." I replied, standing up tall in from of Klaus. He didn't say a thing, he didn't even look at me or Bonnie, he stared at the floor, that's when I knew for sure that I was right. He glared at me once more and vampire sped out of my sight.
"Will he come back?" I asked, turning to face Bonnie.
"I don't know, maybe. My guess is that he is gone for now. Well done, Jer. Standing up to him." Bonnie smiled, drawing me into a hug. "I have to call Elena and tell her what's happened." Bonnie sighed as she got her phone out of her back pocket and dialed Elena's number.
"Bonnie, be careful with what you say to her." I warned her, I knew how fragile Elena was she found out our parents had died after she woke up in the hospital. Bonnie nodded just as Elena answered the phone.
"Ah Elena, listen... You need to know something has gone wrong with the plan... Someone got hurt... Well, more than that... They're dead." Bonnie was saying in the conversation between her and Elena. I tuned out of the conversation and glanced over at the only Salvatore brother still standing, how he must be hurting right now. He didn't even dare to look at his brother's body, I understood that. The times of a death were a grieving, painful period that you don't think you'll ever get over. Well, you never really do.
All we had to do now was wait for Elena to arrive.
Elena's P.O.V
My heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest, I was so nervous and not at all ready to him, lifeless on the ground. Could I really do this again? Go through losing another person close to me? No, I had to be strong for everyone right now. I wouldn't fall a part again. I felt Caroline's hand slip into mine and squeeze tightly, I looked over and smiled at her. She was stronger than me, better at this type of thing than me. It was hard trying to be her at this moment in time. I held back my tears for as long as I could, so had she. We were both doing surprisingly well.
Finally, we were there. I could literally hear my heart beating rapidly, getting faster and faster each step I took closer to him. My mouth opened slightly so I could breath. I didn't want to get a proper look, I couldn't push myself to do that. My eyes then noticed his brother.
"Damon." Was all I could force myself to say as I ran over to him, pulling him into a massive hug. "I'm s-so sorry..." I squeezed my eyes shut and let the tears fall. I was done being Caroline now, I couldn't pretend anymore. I felt Damon's tears start to soak the fabric of my shirt on my shoulder.
"He's gone." He whispered in my ear. "What do I do? How can I live without him?"
"You just need to stay strong, fight through the emotions. Don't turn it off." I told him, I felt him nod slightly. "You're going to be fine."
Caroline tapped me on the shoulder, I pulled away quickly from hugging Damon as she tugged my arm, I followed her.
"What are we going to do about the body?" She whispered.
"We'll have to bury him." I replied, whispering too.
"Funeral?" She suggested.
"Of course." I said quickly. "As soon as we can, I think."
"I think I should take his body home and preserve it. We can have a little funeral, bury him ourselves. People would want to know why his body looks the way it does if we got it all arranged at a funeral directors or something." Bonnie cut in. Me and Caroline both nodded in agreement. It was all settled.
This chapter was rushed to please forgive me! I only have one more left to write then the book is finished!! Hope guys have liked it :) remember to vote and commennttttt! Molly xxx
