Damon's P.O.V
I walked into the dance without a care in the world, soaking in the atmosphere of slutty teenage girls and try-hard boys. There were over fifty Alice's, girls all in short dresses and still pulling them up even higher. Wow, so this was High School. I grinned to myself at the thought of me being a student here, I'd shake the place right up. Maybe even be expelled within a few days...
The lights were flashing in my face and the music pounded in my ears, for a vampire it was even more intense. I was the first to enter the dance, my aim was to see if the coast was clear. By the looks of it, it was. I double checked every inch of the dance, and spotted Jack mingling with a few girls in the corner of the room almost out of sight. I raised an eyebrow at my target. I was supposed to get outside as soon as possible and tell them, but I decided to do things my way. I slowly made my way over to Jack with two drinks.
"Hey Jack." I shouted handing him a drink.
"Damon, you ready for a big night?" He replied, nodding his head to thank me for the drink.
"I have to go, need to find my little Brother." I span on my black boots and walked off, glad I decided to take the situation into my own hands.
Jack's P.O.V
I was thankful that Damon got me a drink, I had him fooled. I was talking to a few girls, telling them I should be joining the school in a few weeks. Lies... As soon as my deed was complete I was to move far away and start fresh, get Klaus out of my head. I sighed at the thought of my dream destination and took a sip of my drink. Caroline walked towards me, a big grin on her face.
"Wooow, preeetty." I smiled, grabbing some of the fabric on her red dress.
"Thanks, it took a lot of work." Caroline huffed happily, admiring herself. "So, having fun?"
"Yeah, you guys did really well to put this all together." I said, grinning. I took another sip of my drink. Suddenly something clogged up my throat. I breathed in heavily avoiding panic mode. I couldn't hold it in much longer and started to Cough rapidly.
"Jack, are you alright?" Caroline panicked, grabbing my shoulder. She turned me around and started to pat my back. I coughed something up and I spat it into the palm Of my hand. Caroline stared at the object in shock, so did I. It was a ting piece Of folded up paper. I reluctantly unfolded the paper, Caroline's expression grew even stronger, the tiniest fragment Of vervain plant was wrapped in the paper and on the paper there was a note. It read:
STAY AWAY FROM ELENA GILBERT.
I looked at Caroline, she snatched the note out of my hands and stared in disbelief.
"What does this mean? Jack? Are you trying to hurt my Best Friend?" Caroline questioned, frowning at me. Straight after she ask me, I grabbed her by the neck and dragged her into the empty hallway.
"Stop playing innocent Caroline! I know you already know! Tell me! Who else knows!" I shouted at her, tightening my grip around her neck as she fought me.
"What do you mean? Know what! What's going on!" She screamed, struggling. "jack! You're hurting me!"
"I can't kill you, Klaus' orders. But that doesn't mean I can't silence you for now!" I replied, gripping her neck even tighter and snapping it in two in my bare hands. She was technically dead, but she would come back. I dusted myself down and tightened the tie around my neck. I needed to find Damon Salvatore, the man who handed me the drink.
Elena's P.O.V
I walked into the dance, taking a deep breath as I faced the booming music and bright lights. Everything was exactly as Caroline had designed. The snacks were all tea party themed and there was tones of Alice's and Mad Hatter's everywhere I turned. I smiled as I saw Damon walked towards me, he stuck out like a sore thumb. Everything was bright and colourful, Damon was dressed in black. He was the only person I'd ever met in my life that could pull off black on black. I readjusted the mouse ears on my head and the mask on my face.
"Don't you look cute." He smiled, twanging one of the whiskers on my mask.
"Thanks, do I look like Bonnie?" I laughed, doing the Bonnie standing position.
"Yeah, I think I was the only one who noticed it was you. Considering I already knew before you stepped foot in the place."
"Bonnie! O-M-G! You look totes adorable! Loving the Mouse costume!" Fern squeaked as she hopped over to me. Fern was a bubbly girl with blond hair and natural brown highlights that most girls envied. She was dressed up as Alice in the same costume as mine that Bonnie was wearing. I grinned and tried to impersonate Bonnie's tone of voice.
"Thanks! You look great too." I giggled. Fern thanked me and skipped off, flipping her hair everywhere as she skipped.
Suddenly Jack approached me and Damon, he was walking very fast and intimidatingly.
"Why is coming over now? It's pretty crowded in here. I doubt he'll try anything." I whispered, Damon nodded quickly and stood in front of me. Jack came over in no time at all, I smiled at him and tried to say something but before I could he lobbed his fist into the side of Damon's face. He fell to the floor immediately.
"What are you doing!" I screamed, kneeling down to help Damon.
"He tried to sabotage me, threaten me with a little puny note in a drink. Well played, but not good enough." Jack replied, kicking Damon in the stomach.
"Stop it!" I screamed as loud as I could, no one seemed to be paying attention to me.
"Don't even bother getting help from you human friends, Bonnie. I've compelled every single person in this dance hall." Jack threatened, hitting Damon again. "Where is Elena?"
"I-I-I Don't know." I shook my head.
"You do, Bonnie if you don't tell me, I'll kill him." Jack ripped a wooden arm off of a chair and showed it to me.
"Please don't." I begged, kneeling over Damon as much as I could.
"Go on then, use your wonderful magic to shock me into pain, to go get help. But I must warn you, I'm highly trained in witch spells, I can shake them off in minutes." He warned, playing with the chunk of wood in his hands. "I must add, I wouldn't go find Caroline, she's a bit dead at this moment in time." Jack chuckled.
I couldn't say anything. I just stayed leaning over Damon.
"Go on then, use your magic, go get help. I dare you." He repeated himself.
There was one problem with that, I would if I could. But I couldn't. I wasn't Bonnie. I was Elena. Elena Gilbert. The one he wanted. I wasn't a witch, I was a doppelganger.
I braced myself for what ever was going to happen next.
