It was her first day as a newborn. She had the house to herself and didn't have to abide by any rules. Anna was enjoying herself, getting carried away a bit. She acts as if the previous night never happened. She seemed exuberant, yet darkened inside. Her cravings were acting up and she didn't want to touch her supply immediately. She moved to the kitchen and scrambled through all of the cabinets looking for any strong alcohol. She only found bourbon. Of all things to drink she didn't want to have anything to do with the previous night with Damon and Angie. Anna drinks it anyways, she just wants to have a good time and mess about for her first day. She moves to the stereo in the den and turns it up loud. It was a single person party in her house.

She was euphorically happy, dancing around and trying to get drunk. She couldn't, she healed too fast now. She was oblivious that her closest friend believed she was dead; and her girlfriend and best friend thought she was missing. It was all fun and games until she heard the doorbell ring through the music. Her mood was then turned grumpy.

It bothered me so much. Anna, she's like a baby sister, and I couldn't protect her. She is gone and the only closure I can get is walking by her house. Rosie and Cora have no clue. They say she needed space due to the stress from the incident. They probably got that text from one of those bastard dealers. And They weren't there two nights ago. I heard her scream, I lost the connection. She's gone. I don't want to bother walking by her house today, but I need to. I instead call the hospital. I want to yell at Tanya for not protecting her. I want to know how she died.

I regretfully call the hospital.

"Hello this is Susan Ewell. How may I help you?" a small lady spoke.

"I'm trying to get ahold of Tanya Vice. It's important, it's about Anna."

"She's off today. Wait, are you referring to Annabeth Malliv? The girl from the attack?" She replies confused.

"Yeah. My 'sister.' I need to talk to Tanya about her." I say, my voice quiet.

"She was discharged yesterday afternoon. She should be home resting, Tanya even brought her." Susan sounds worried. "Is everything okay with her?"

"I don't know! That's why I'm calling." I say. "Just whatever. Bye." I snap at her. I hang up the phone and sigh. I need to go by her house. I saw what happened. I lost the connection. I can feel that she's dead. One silent tear falls from my eye.

I make it to her street and pace myself walking, I don't want to get my hopes up. Yet, the woman said otherwise. I wasn't even four houses down and I picked up loud music. I ran. I knew it was her; it had to be. I got in front of her house and the music sounded the loudest. I bolted to the door and knocked. I didn't get any answer so I rang the doorbell rapidly. Anna answered the door, hair raven black, and stood in bloody undergarments with what looked like alcohol in her hand. Nothing seems right about her. She doesn't hug me. She doesn't say hello, she just carries on dancing and drinking. I step inside unsure of what to say or do.

I stare at her, and for some reason the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. She's different; much more different.

"Anna, are you okay?" I ask timidly. "What's with the hair?"

"I'm great! And look I'm completely healed. I heal way faster now, it's great. Also, I felt I needed to change my look." She keeps twirling around the house, disappearing repetitively using her powers.

"Anna, stop fucking around for once. Do you not remember what happened the other night?! I fucking thought you were dead! I felt you die! Our damn fucking connection broke!" I scream, on the verge of tears while walking to her basement. "Just please talk to me."
