Chapter 9

Matt's POV

Cora and I are walking out of the elevators, and we see Dr. Emil pacing the hallway, while on the phone.

"What's wrong? Is Anna okay?" I question, trying to hide the fear in my voice. God knows what she did. He waves his hand dismissively, and I go to challenge him. "List-" I'm cut out by a loud squeal; one that sounds like Rosie.

Dragging Cora with me, I run into Anna's room. What I see stops me dead in my tracks. Anna is picking Rosie up and laughing. Rosie is returning kisses and hugs with Anna. My eyes go wide, and I begin to panic.

"WHY IN FUCK'S NAME ARE YOU OUT OF BED?!" I bellow. The Alpha showing in my voice.

"She's healed!" Rosie squeals again, and Anna plays along with her. As Cora and I stare at Anna as she pulls Rosie into a hug.

I cock my head to the side, mouthing "Does she know." Anna subtly shakes her head "no," which means that Rosie doesn't know that she is a mutant.

Rosie pulls back. "Alright, tell me what is going on. Why the Hell did you heal so quickly?"

"Rosie, I- I'm a-" I interrupt her. I don't want her to give up her secret.

"I gave her some of my blood. I was a 'lab-dog' before I met you. I got mutated, so I have advanced healing, which means that anyone who has my blood will make them heal quickly." I explain, only stretching the truth somewhat. Rosie stares at me in disbelief.

"Matt, are you sure you're not on drugs? Because if you are, why didn't you share them with me?" Rosie asks, a nervous laugh tumbling from her lips.

I shake my head. "Well you remember what you saw me as before, correct?" Rosie nods. "Well that's part of the reason why I have weird healing... powers if you would like to put it that way. I was taken one day and someone did experiments on me. The mutated my genes to where I heal extremely quickly. That's why my cut is gone now too." I show where the cut on my head is supposed to be.

Rosie nods. "Oh okay. So like Dog with a Blog? You're a special kind of dog thing and you can be all cool by healing and being a wolf. I get it. Can you shi-" She cuts off. I hear the slight movement of feet, and I am greeted with a new scent. I turn to the door and see Dr. Emil with someone.

"Ah Dr. Emil. So glad you actually are caring about your patient. You shouldn't be shooing me off when I'm asking about my 'sister'." My voice is cold, my eyes rimmed with orange.

"I was getting Tanya Vice, seeing as how Katherine disappeared. She's Anna's new personal nurse. " He snaps back. I want to challenge him so badly, but refrain because there is an audience. For some reason, my wolf is telling me not to trust Tanya.

"Nice to meet you all." Tanya smiles, as soon as her gaze meets Anna, her smile becomes brighter. "I think I got it covered from here Emil." Tanya shoos him out of the room.

"Let's first get everyone water." Still holding the suspicious smile, she moves to the counter and pours everyone water. I can't see what she is doing, but she hands me a cup of water. I take it but pour it out, grabbing a different one. I silently growl at her, not wanting her anywhere near my mate, my sister, and her girlfriend.

"I can tell that you don't like me." Tanya had a different tone to her voice, and it threw me off. I moved myself further away from her, for the sake of not harming anyone. Her gaze never lets off of me. Now feeling awkward, I take a large sip of the water. Immediately, the water sears my throat and I drop. I cough, to the point where I could not control my breathing. Cora moves to my side, she didn't take a sip of her water. My throat is burning, and I can't respond.
