Chapter 6

It's late, darkest can be at night. The four are safe in their pairs, for a moment. Everyone has just fallen asleep. There are slight,light taps on the window, Anna's ears twitch. There is a conversation outside, out of habit Annie listens in.

Matt and Cora are spooning on one bed asleep, same with Rosie. All but Annie are sleeping, and they don't know what is to come.

"Do you want them to know we are here?" A commanding feminine voice whispers.

"No, my apologies ma'am" submits a sarcastic voice.

"I didn't think so, that last thing we need is these dogs slipping through our fingers again. I am not in the mood to piss Viktor off, Kraven." The voice sounds irked now. Multiple voices chatter, someone points out that they are under surveillance. And the voices cease.

Anna sits up attentive and nervous, she can't hear anything, she gets worried. "Cora, are you up?"

Cora stirs, eyes flutter open. "Huh? Yeah. I am now. Why?"

"People are outside the window over there, who knows where else." Annie says worriedly.

"I know I was trying to ignore them, hoping they would go away." Cora retorts.

"How? I had to use my hearing to listen to them?" A wide eyed Anna asks. "Are you a mutant like me?"

Cora giggles,"No, Matt and I are...something else."

"I KNEW IT!" An excited Anna exclaims after placing the facts together, waking up the other two.

Matt groans. "Why can I not sleep? Do you two always have to wake up the sleeping beauty?" He shifts over, trying to fall asleep again. He shoots back up," They're here?!"

"Who?" Rosie asks confused?

"Deathdealers!" an ecstatic Anna claims. "Vampires, and these two are lykens. She points at Cora and Matt, giddy.

Matt snaps. "Don't fucking say anything! They can hear you! Do you want us dead?!" He's shaking in anger, and Cora knows what he wants to do.

"Anna, he's right, if they are out there you shouldn't be screaming out like that. And why are you so happy? This means we may be screwed." Cora says upset.

Matt glares. He gets up and walks into the bathroom. He doesn't want anyone to see his orange eyes. The ones that show that he wants blood.

"I'm sorry, I just love anything supernatural." Annie sighs.

"Got that right" Matt snarkily hints at Anna's secret.

Sighing, Cora walks over to Matt. "Matt, don't be stupid. You know where that got you last time. I don't think you want the unspoken to come back again. Just come lay down with me."

"Actually, stay there, Rosie come on, Matt run the water." Annie says walking into the bathroom locking the four of them in there. "They are still here, and we need a plan."

Cora speaks up "I can distract them while the three of you run. We all know that I'm the fastest creature here for now. I could probably outrun them."

"No, you are sticking with me Cora, we get split up who knows what will happen. But you are right we need a distraction." The two nod their heads and glare at Anna.

"No,No,No what can she do? I'm not leaving her, I'll help but the distraction is on my terms. We are in this together." Rosie strikenly remarks.

"Alright, but we need to create as much distance with however much time you can give. We will go for the woods, we know that area, they don't. We will shift, then come back and cover you two." Matt reassures everyone else.
