Matt's P.O.V

I didn't believe she would show up at school today. I guess she figured she needs to live a normal life to get past what happened with everything. Rosie looks upset, seeing as she can't spot Anna through everyone. Deep down I'm happy because maybe she decided to avoid us, I'm scared only because I know she's around. I can sense it. Catching up to Rosie, I discreetly try to dissuade her from talking to Anna.

"Why not? I missed her. I want to see how she's doing." Rosie pouted like usual.

"Well she's not in the mood for everyone. She wants to start her life back up, but has temporarily cut out the socialite she is. She's distressed and needed time, just like you said. She stayed away from home at first and then came back. Let her come to you on her own time." The biggest lie ever. Looking to Rosie, I could tell she was very upset. She wanted to see her girlfriend and be held again. She wanted security, but with the new Anna about, that's the last thing she would get.

"Oh, Alright. I get it." Rosie kept her head high as per usual.

I groaned. "Hey, just go hang out with Cora for now. She has some exciting things to tell you." I say, actually trying to help her mood. I didn't want to see Rosie upset, but I couldn't let her go near Anna.

"Alright. Well, talk to you later I guess." She turns around and goes to sit with Cora in the library. I proceed to my locker, so conveniently placed in the lobby. I'm greeted with a killer stare. Anna was sizing me up with her eyes as she leaned against my locker. She kept her gaze upon me as I continued her way.

"Anna, can you move please?" I say, trying to avoid her deathly glare. "I need to grab some books." I act as if everything is normal.

"You followed me." She didn't move and plainly states not letting her gaze up.

"Of course I had to follow you. This is my locker you silly." I say, not letting her know that I understand what she means.

"Don't play me, I mean from last night. You think you're funny? You think you can figure out how to 'help me' by lurking around? Okay. Know you failed at covering your scent." She shoved me.

"Fine. I did. I know you didn't want me too, but the guardian contract that I have said I have to follow you if I think there is potential danger. You know the mark. You know the duties that come from being someone's guardian. That's one of my duties. To basically follow you around like the Ugly Duckling." I look at her. "Now is not the time to talk about this though. Just know that Rosie misses you. I told her to let you go to her. I'm looking out for Rosie too in retrospect. So please, can we carry on like nothing happened? You can even compel me to forget about what happened last night."

"Don't talk to me about some bull contract. You don't have to do anything, I mean how would they feel knowing you are protecting a vampire?" She paused hearing Rosie's name. "How is she? Actually, I'll go to her right now." She seemed human for a moment, until her sympathetic face showed a maniacal smirk.

"Rosie really misses you. She's sitting with Cora right now. I wanted to see if Cora could cheer her up. She misses being held by you. She just wants to see you." I say. "Hey, I know you love her, so whatever I heard last night went in one ear and out the other. I will never repeat that. I swear." I reached behind me and scratched our mark. I shivered from my touch, and Anna got the after affects. So now my words are a promise, and I could never go back on them unless Anna tells me to.

"I would never regret saying that. I'm talking about the actions you saw. Actually you know what; screw you. I'm going to talk to her, and the fact that you saw Damon and I, doesn't bother me." She brushes me off and storms to the library, disappearing quick.
