Hiccup POV
I couldn't think of any other way to end all of this. I kept searching for that voice but to no avail, even I have no clue who am I looking for. Toothless looked completely exhausted after hours of endless flying throughout the journey as barely tried to flap his big wings. So I decided to find a place to camp.''I know you tired, bud. Let's rest, okay?'' I stroked his scaly head as he growled weakly in response.
I'd found some place. A cave, to be more specific. Located at the bottom between two gigantic snowy mountains. It's quite large as it fit for all of us including Toothless. At least we're not gonna get frozen by another blizzard again. I scouted the cave in case if there's anything threatening and dangerous to us when we were about to rest. Several minutes later, I scouted everything. Even Toothless told me that this cave was safe to stay. Then, I finally set up a small camp. Put a fireplace, place a bedroll for Elsa to sleep. I pick her up gently in my arms from Toothless saddle and put her on the bedroll.
''Can you look after her, bud? I'll give you some treats when I get back'' I asked the dragon a favor which he growled in agreement because he couldn't wait for his master to treat him.
''Thanks, bud...'' I leaned my forehead against his as a thanks before venture outside for food.
Third Person POV
As the man was setting his foot outside the cave, the snow had started to fall endlessly from the cloudy sky. He lifted his head up to look at it as if there was something strange was about to happen according to his senses. His mind was thinking about the voice that was calling him yesterday. He tried to remember about the accident recently but failed as his mind started to feel an ache or sudden pain. He growled softly with his right hand placing on his head and gritted his teeth, trying to wipe that pain away.
''No good...'' Snowy breath left from his mouth as he breathed out a sigh.
Meanwhile...
A group of soldiers had arrived at the aftermath of the recent horrific tragedy along with their captain. They all shocked as they never seen this happened before. Then, they went completely silent as the captain set his foot on the snowy ground, dismounting his horse with his personal bodyguard by his sides. They all feared as they wanted to leave the place with bodies scattered around with only a few had survived from him. For those who survived, they could only whimpered in fear as if they had been traumatized by his presence. The captain walked towards to one of the survivors, with his legs wrapped by his arms, shaking in fear as he mumbling words.
''Hey-'' The captain tried to comfort him.
''DON'T TOUCH ME!! GET AWAY FROM ME!!'' He yelled at his own captain without even realize who was he yelling to.
''He was here...! He was... here! He... was here!! He!!" He muttered as he didn't dare to say his name, leaving the captain and his bodyguard with confusion.
"Who was here?! Tell me, son!" He forced the survivor by grabbing his collar, bringing his face close to him.
Just as he whispered his name in his ears, he suddenly collapsed with no sign of breathing. He tried to wake him up but the bodyguards stop him.
"He's dead, captain! Captain?" One of his bodyguard asked the captain who was trying to control his shaking after he heard what the survivor told him.
"THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!!"
Meanwhile on the southern part of Arendelle...
In Jack's mind, he was recalling the time when North told him that he was the only Guardian... but he was wrong.
"There are other Guardians than me?! Please tell me you're joking, North. Cuz I'm not buying it for this matter..." Jack exclaimed in disbelief.
"Why do you think I'm telling you this, Jacky boy? You think you're the only and chosen one to protect the world?! You know you can't do that all by yourself! You can carry every burdens on your shoulders but in the end... a dark and powerful forces will come that even you can't protect the world from that..." North tried to explain to Jack who believed North was hiding something.
"Jack, you have to listen to me! Wait!" North pleaded after a long and continuous explanation to him, he burst away from the North Pole.
During North explanation, he said one of them could be the potential Guardian. Jack was shocked when North muttered his friend's name being the Guardian as he had observed them for a long time. He was shocked because he knew being a Guardian bears a strong responsibility and risks that could cost him his life. Which was why he didn't want any of his friends to get involved in Guardian business. After all, he could not bear to watch his friends die.
"You're lying, North!"
"I was telling you the truth! He may be-"
"Jack?" His mind finally got interrupted by Rapunzel's voice.
"Yeah, Punz?" He asked, thinking she might be worried about him.
"You okay there?" She asked as they venturing through the forest with Merida's horse and Jack's gliding ability.
"Yeah yeah. I'm fine... totally" He replied with reassuring smile.
"Frost boy staring on the air? That's new... you might hit a tree along the way!" Merida annoyed him with her chuckle followed by Rapunzel.
"Shut up... broom hair." He rolled his eyes.
"Say that again!" Merida quickly grabbed her bow with an arrow pointing at him. (She was able ride her horse normally in this state)
"Bet you 1000 gold if you can put arrow in here... See ya!" He smiled menacingly, pointing his butt to taunt Merida.
"Ohhhoho... you're on, Frost butt!" She accepted his bet, nudging her horse to go after him.
Rapunzel could only laugh awkwardly with these two. Yet, she knew what Jack was thinking but she cannot spit it out as it might upset him. Rapunzel also could not accept the fact that her friend being a Guardian with Jack as an exception because he's immortal.
"Hiccup... you're not what I think you are... are you?"
