Chapter 6 - Pain demands to be felt

Zosia and Ollie were sat on the bed waiting for Elliot to come back in with the scanner when suddenly,  Zosia yelped.

"Zosh? Zosh, what is is? What's wrong?" Ollie asked worriedly. He looked at her, but she couldn't manage a response, the pain was unbearable. He looked at the bed, and saw a terrible sight.

"Zosh, your bleeding." He said.

Tears started forming in Zosia's eyes, and she held his hand, unable to hold it in.

Then Elliot walked in with the machine, but stopped abruptly when he saw the pair crying.

"What's happened?" He asked. Then, as he walked over, it became clear what had happened. "Zosia, Oliver, I'm sorry. By the looks of it you've miscarried, but I will need to scan to make sure." 

Zosia nodded, and lifted up her top so Elliot could take a look. He started moving he probe around, and the pair couldn't bring themselves to look. 

Ollie looked at Elliot, and asked "how bad is it?" 

Elliot looked at them and said "Well, you've definitely had a miscarriage, but," a smile appeared on his face.

"What are you smiling about?" Zosia asked.

"You're still pregnant." Elliot said.

"What!? How is that possible!?" Ollie exclaimed.

"You were pregnant of triplets." Elliot explained. "You lost two of them, that's why there's so much blood, be it seems the third one is a fighter." He moved the probe around a bit more, and a body appeared on the screen.

Zosia and Ollie started crying again; but this time it was with happiness not sadness. They had lost two children, but they were still having one. Elliot left them alone, and Zosia hugged Ollie.

"I feel so blessed." She said "I can't believe we're still having a baby."

"I know." Ollie replied "but what I find even more unbelievable is that we were supposed to have triplets! You barely had a bump."

"It's awful that we lost two babies, but we have to look to the future Ollie. I'm six months time, we'll have a baby Valentine/March in our arms."

Elliot popped his head round the door and told Zosia she could leave when she was ready, so the pair decided to go back to Zosia's flat, as Arthur and Dom were supposed to be out all night, fining them a chance to talk about their plans.
