Ollie looked up from the patients file, and saw Zosia approaching him. He smiled as he saw her, but he was met with a frosty response. Without a word, she grabbed him by the wrist, and dragged him into the staff room, locking the door.

"Zosh, what's going on? Where's Penny?" He asks.

"Were you even going to tell me?" She demanded.

"Tell you what?" Ollie replied innocently.

"Don't play dumb Ollie, it doesn't suit you. What were you talking to Colette about? And don't even try to deny it, because I heard you."

"You heard?" He asks, breaking eye contact.

"Every. Word." Zosia replies angrily. "So whats going on?"

"Before I tell you, I want you to know that I didn't tell you for your own good, I didn't..."

"Cut the crap and get to the point Valentine." She shot.

Ollie sighed. This wasn't going to be easy. "Promise you won't kick off?"

"I can't make a promise I might not be able to keep."

"It's your father." Ollie said vaguely.

"I might be clever Ollie, but I'm no mind reader, I'm going to need more than that."

"Well you know he's been out of the picture for a while,"

"Yes,"

"Well after Penny was born, I got a text from him, asking to see her," he said nervously.

"And you said no, didn't you?"

"Well, that's the thing." Ollie admitted.

"You didn't? Ollie, please tell me this isn't what I think it is?"

"I didn't feel as though I had a choice! He's a changed man, really." Ollie explained.

"That's what he said last time, and the time before, and the time before. Ollie you know how I feel about him! You didn't take her to him did you?"

"It started with just pictures of her, just so he could see what she looked like, but then he asked to meet up. So that day you spent with Dom, I took her to him. Zosia, he really isn't that bad anymore, be even apologized to me."

"Ollie, how could you? How could you put our daughter in danger like that, leaving her with him!? How could you go behind my back?"

"Zosia, I know we've had problems with your father,"

"That's an understatement." Zosia scoffed.

"But don't you think Penny deserves to meet her grandfather. She has barely any family on my side, and from what your dad's said, she has a whole army on yours!" Ollie reasoned.

"Don't you think there is a reason why I don't speak to them? Do you think I'd just cut myself off for the fun of it? Do you want to know why I don't want her anywhere near them?" Zosia said, tears filling her eyes.

"Why?"

"Because they were abusers. My whole childhood, I was neglected by my dad, and when he was around, he was no good. He'd go away with Mama, and leave me with some "uncle", who didn't care about me at all.  He'd wait until they'd gone, then it would start. He'd get angry over the littlest things, and take it out on me; shouting, screaming, kicking me into corners, and then making me pretend nothing had happened. I told him once, but he didn't care, he said I probably deserved it. He left me there, time and time again, knowing what would happen to me. There was no one, no one to help me. Mama couldn't, I didn't tell her, she had enough on her mind, and nobody cared enough to help. And I'm sorry that I don't want my daughter growing up in an environment like that, but she deserves better. She deserves a happy childhood, nothing like mine." Zosia said, tears flowing down her face.

"Zosia." Ollie tried to put him arms round her, but she pushed him away. "Zosia, I'm sorry, I didn't know."

"It's not about that Ollie, it's the fact you went behind my back. I thought we had no secrets, and you've been keeping this from me."

"But Zosia," Ollie started.

"No Ollie. I think it's best you move out for a while. I need space. You can still see Penny, but I can't live with you right now."

"Zosia, please." He pleaded.

"No, I've made up my mind. Come round after work, and get your stuff, and then text me whenever you want to see Penny." And with that, Zosia left the room, leaving a shocked Ollie wondering how everything had gone so wrong, so quickly.
