Chapter 40 - Discharge day

Sorry for the lack of updates last week; I was on holiday, and there was no wifi. I meant to tell you all, but I forgot 😂 oops. Anyway, enjoy!
Zosia's POV
I hold Ollie's hand tight as the doctor sorts through his notes. I'm desperately hoping everything is alright, and that my daughter can come home soon.
"Dr March, Mr Valentine," he begins, "I'm pleased to tell you that all of Penny's tests have come back clear, and her scans show nothing abnormal."
I breathe a sigh of relief, and I feel as though a huge weight has been lifted off me. I can feel a smile creeping on my face, and I squeeze Ollie's hand tighter.
"So, she's alright?" Ollie asks.
"I believe so, yes." He smiles.
"Oh thank God." Ollie sighs, smiling at me. "So what happens now?"
"You'll need to bring her in every month for the next six months, so that we can see how she's doing, check she's developing how she should be etc, and obviously you're to bring her straight back in if anything like this happens again, but you should be fine to take her home this afternoon."
"That's brilliant, thank you so much." I smile, glad this nightmare is finally coming to an end.
"And you're sure she's not epileptic?" Ollie asks.
"Positive. Sometimes babies have seizures, and there's no explanation for them. The important thing is that Penny is fine now, and we're confident this won't happen again. She should be discharged around 2." He says.
I nod, and thank him, and then me and Ollie leave his office.
"She's fine." I smile.
"She's coming home." Ollie smiles, "she's coming home!" He starts to laugh, and he lifts me up and spins me around.
"Ollie! Ollie, put me down!" I laugh.
He does so, and then kisses me.
"What was that for?" I smile.
"You've been so amazing through these last few weeks. You've been so strong, and you know, I really admire that. I love you, Zosia March."
"Enough with the soppy stuff." I laugh. "Anybody would think you were after something."
"As if!" Ollie laughs.
"And just for the record," I say, "I love you too. Now come on, let's take our daughter home."
As we walk back towards Penny, my phone buzzes in my pocket. I take it out, and see a message from Dom.

Zosia, Diggers has just told me about Penny. Is she alright? Sorry I wasn't here, hope you're okay xx

I type back a simple reply: 'Ring me when you've got a break X' and smile at the message, which Ollie notices.
"What are you smiling at?" He asks, "got another man on the go?" He jokes.
"Oh yeah, there's about five of them." I say sarcastically. "No, it was just a message from Dom. He's just got back from Paris, and Digby told him about Penny; he was worried." I explain, showing him the message.
Right on cue, my phone starts to ring, and a nurse starts staring at me, so I go into the corridor.
"Zosia? How is she? I've been worrying since Arthur told me. You know I would've come back early if I'd have known." Dom says in a rush.
"I know you would've." I say. "Don't worry, she's fine. The doctor said there's no problems, so she's coming home today. We'll pop down to Keller to see you if you want." I offer.
"I'd love that, I haven't seen her in ages. Thanks Zosh."
"No problem. Now, I've got to go, the doctor is about to discharge Pen, and I'm getting evils from a nurse."
Dom laughs. "Bye Zosh."
"Bye." I say, before hanging up, and going back into the room.
Ollie's sat in a chair with Penny in his arms, rocking her back and forth.
"Sorry about that." I apologise.
"It's fine." Ollie says, "the doctor's been, so we're free to go. We were just waiting for you."
"Well then, let's go." I smile, taking Penny's bag.
"She's asleep, so we'd best get out of here quickly; it's quite noise." Ollie whispers.
"I kind of promised Dom we'd go and see him first, but don't worry, we won't stay long." I admit.
"Keller it is then." Ollie says, putting one arm round me as we walk down the corridor.
