As Zosia was driving down the motorway, she came to a halt. There were police barriers everywhere, and behind them she could see the chaos which was undoubtedly a multi vehicle pileup. She decided to go and see if they needed any help; it looked quite bad, and she couldn't just stand there and do nothing.
She got out of the car and ran over to the barriers, trying to move them.
"You can't go in there Miss, it's dangerous." He said.
"I'm a doctor," she explained, "I work at Holby, on Darwin. I know what I'm doing, I promise."
"Okay, go through. But if the firemen say it's unsafe, you leave immediately, is that clear?" He added, moving the barrier out of the way.
"Crystal." Zosia replied, running over to one of the cars.
She pushed the door open and climbed in next to a young woman.
"Hello?" She said, "Can you hear me?" She quickly checked for a pulse, and after struggling to find one, she breathed a sigh of relief when the person started to come around.
"It's okay," she soothed, "you've been in an accident."
"Zosia?" A croaky voice came from the girl, and as she pushed her hair out of her face, Zosia realised who she was, dread washing over her.
"Jasmine?" She gasped.
"Zosia. Zosia help me, I, I can't move!" She panicked.
"Don't worry, I'm going to get you out of here," Zosia said. "Are you in any pain?" She asked.
"My abdomen. A-And my leg too." She cried, her breathing speeding up.
"Jasmine, I need you to calm down." Zosia said assertively, "Look at me. Jasmine, look at me. That's it, now I want you to take deep breaths. In for 7, out for 11, just like that."
Zosia relaxed a little as she started to calm down, giving the usually happy, bubbly girl a comforting smile.
"Good," she said, "I'm going to try and get you out, okay?"
"But my, my leg. I can't." Jasmine panicked.
"I need you to trust me, we're going on three, okay. One-"
Zosia was interrupted by a fireman running over.
"You need to get out now!" He shouted, "there's petrol leaking; the car could go up at any second!"
"I'm not leaving her!" Zosia shouted, "give me two minutes and I'll have her out."
"Miss, you don't have two minutes; we can't stop the fire in time, you have to go!"
"Zosia, go." Jasmine whispered, "you've got a fiancée and a baby to think about, I've got nothing. Just leave me here; you've done your best."
"No, Jasmine, no. We're getting out of here together." Zosia says firmly, "We're going on three, ready? One, two. Three!" With a grunt, Zosia managed to get Jasmine free, and quickly picked her up and carried her to the edge of the scene where there was an ambulance waiting.
"Jasmine Burrows, 24. Pain in the abdomen and suspected break in the fibula." She informed them, putting Jasmine on the trolley. (A/N I have no idea how old Jasmine actually is, but Lucy is 25, and I presume she's a similar age to her character.)
"Okay, we'll take over from here." The paramedic said, allowing Zosia to go. She said goodbye to Jasmine, and promised to visit her, and then a policeman called her over.
"Thank you for all your help," the policeman said gratefully.
"It's no problem, I'm glad I could help." Zosia smiled.
As she was walking to her car, Zosia couldn't help but smile. She had quite possible saved Jasmine's life; who knows what could have happened if she wasn't there. Even when she wasn't at work, she was still able to help people, and that made her extremely happy.
Suddenly, there was a flurry of shouting, and before Zosia had a chance to see what was happening, a huge explosion rang out. Car parts were flying everywhere, firemen were desperately trying to put out the fire, people were screaming; sirens were blasting. And Zosia? She was nowhere to be seen.I'm not sure about this,, the ending didn't turn out right, but I hope you enjoyed it💓
