"You know the Doctor. You understand him. You will predict his actions!" The Dalek ordered Rose.
"I don't know! And even if I did, I wouldn't tell you." She defended.
"Predict! Predict! Predict!" They chanted.
"Tardis detected in flight." A Dalek announced making Rose's heart speed up.
"Launch missiles. Exterminate." Another said.
"You can't! The Tardis hasn't got any defences. You're going to kill him." Rose begged, tears gathering in her eyes.
"You have predicted correctly."
-
"We've got incoming!" The Rebel yelled, holding onto the Tardis console for support. The Dalek missiles struck the Tardis, and there was a big fireball in the vacuum of space.
"The extrapolator's working. We've got a fully functional forcefield. Try saying that when you're drunk." Jack laughed. "And for our next trick." The Doctor smirked, pulling down a lever.
The Tardis materialized around Rose and the nearest Dalek.
"Rose, get down! Get down, Rose!" The Rebel yelled, making Rose duck quickly.
"Exterminate!"
The Dalek fired and missed. Jack took out the Dalek with the modified Defabricator.
"You did it." Rose smiled, rubbing up the platform and into the Doctor's arms. "Feels like I haven't seem you in years." She muttered. "I told you I'd come and get you." The Doctor smiled, letting Rose go. The Rebel and Jack watched on, but something was different. The Rebel's eyes. Her eyes. The eyes that held so much emotion. Passion. Sadness. Fear. Anger. Her eyes were different. The hazel color was masked with another layer of emotion and feelings. One she hadn't felt much before, but nonetheless came to her as all emotional baggage did. Her eyes now held sadness and longing. They now held jealousy and twinges of annoyance. Jack watched the Rebel as she leaned up against the console, arms crossed, the rim of the console digging into her back. Jack scooted his body closer to her's and took one of her hands into his own. She looked up at him surprised, as he squeezed her hand comforting. He dropped her hand quickly and thy resumed their earlier positions.
"Never doubted it." Rose smirked.
"I did. You all right?" The Doctor rolled his eyes.
"Yeah. You?" Rose laughed lightly.
"Not bad, been better." The Doctor shrugged.
"Hey, don't I get a hug?" Jack announced, having his arms outstretched. "Oh, come here!" Rose smiled. "I was talking to him." Jack smirked, but hugged Rose anyway. "Welcome home." He joked.
The Doctor noticed the Rebel's slightly sour face and walked cautiously up to her. "You all right?" He asked, concern in his voice, lacing his words. The Rebel winced at the words from his mouth and forced a smile that didn't reach her eyes, no matter how much she wished. "Yeah. I'm fine. I'm terrific." She choked out. She slightly spat 'terrific' with a poisonous venom that made the word sound dangerous and cold. The Doctor, however, didn't notice the difference and walked away, leaving the Rebel to wallow in her self despair and solemness. "Oh, I thought I'd never see you again." Rose exclaimed to Jack. "Oh, you were lucky. That was just a one shot wonder. Drained the gun of all its power supply. Now it's just a piece of junk." Jack tossed the metal onto the floor, who I made everyone jump.
"You said they were extinct. How comes they're still alive?" Rose changed the subject to the Daleks. The Rebel moved forward, arms still crossed tightly. Eyes closed. She sighed, breathing deeply as if to cleanse her thoughts.
