Chapter 17 - Breakdowns, and a hidden secret.

I mumbled with realisation "I know how we can avoid this, the sacrifice, everything." Damon frowned and asked "What are you talking about?" I looked up at his confused face and said the words I never thought i'd ever say in my entire life, something I never wanted for anyone, but the only way of surviving, "I want you to turn me."

~Ally's POV;~

Damon asked with wide eyes "Are you insane?!" I sighed and mumbled nervously "I know it sounds a little crazy but-" Damon argued with raised eyebrows "A little crazy?! You're asking to be a vampire, Ally. Something you said you didn't want." I turned away from him and answered stressfully "I don't want it, I just-" Damon sighed and mumbled "You sound like a crazy person right now..."

I walked a few steps away from Damon then turned back to him as I explained with worry "I don't want to ask this of you, but I have to. It's the only way I'm gonna get to see my dad, you, everyone. It's the only way I'm gonna survive this. And I know you agree with me."

Damon pointed at me as he strolled my way and answered with frustration across his face "What's right is that you get to grow up, grow old, live the life you want. Not a lifetime of hating yourself and a never ending desire to kill." I held my hands out defensively and argued "But what's right for me isn't going to happen. Klaus is coming for me, Damon, and if I sit around and wait for him to show up, I'm waiting to die."

Damon closed the space between us and argued back, his perfect face covered with torment, "This isn't the last option." I looked into his eyes and mumbled fearfully "It is. You know it and I know it."

The door to Elena's house opened, silencing our debate right there. I sighed and looked down at the ground as Stefan's voice asked, full of concern, "What's going on here?" I looked up at him and lied, with the most believable smile that I could make, "Nothing."

Stefan looked from me to Damon as he answered with the frown lines forming on his forehead "It didn't sound like nothing." Damon stated with a stubborn bitter grin "Ally knows a way out of the sacrifice." Stefan frowned with confusion and asked "What are you talking about? What is it?"

Damon watched me with judgemental eyes as he teased "The life of rainbows and unicorns and an eternity of bloodlust."

Stefan looked from Damon to me with shock across his face as he asked "What?! What are you thinking?!" I sighed and explained "It's the only way, Stefan." Stefan stepped towards me and argued with anger "No, it's not, Ally. You don't want this, you don't need to feel like this is the last bit of hope left. We're not gonna let you die-"

I let out a short laugh and argued back "How?! So, we just try to persuade a psychotic guy, who has spent centuries waiting to do the sacrifice, and just pray he drops it all and leaves without a trace? It's either I turn and can't be used in his stupid sacrifice or I stay like this, scared, waiting for Klaus to drain me of my blood on an altar of fire." Stefan clamped his mouth shut as I unclenched my fists and asked with fear "Could you do that?-" I looked from Damon to Stefan again as I continued "Wait for your own death? Knowing there was no way of stopping it?" Damon sighed and snapped with his icy, determined blue eyes "You're not gonna die, you just need to trust us. 'Cause turning you is a no-no."

I bit my tongue then snapped with fear in my voice "I won't be alive to say I told you so."

I pushed past Stefan and Damon, who were standing in front of me intimidatingly, and opened Elena's front door, stepping inside, away from the interrogation, and from the thoughts of death and Klaus. I instantly wiped underneath my eyes, at the tears threatening to escape as I muttered under my breath "Grow up." I walked down the hallway towards Elena's voice, that was coming from the kitchen.
