Chapter 7 - The Masquerade Ball.

~Damon's POV;~

It was early morning and Caroline was sitting in my living room crying. Katherine was up to her usual tormenting business again, since I pushed her buttons yesterday.

Stefan walked through the front door and asked with concern "What happened?" I looked at Caroline and said "Go ahead, tell him-" I looked at Stefan and added "You're gonna love this." Caroline mumbled with fear "I saw Katherine today." Stefan asked with worry "Where?" Caroline explained with teary eyes "At the Grill. I just stopped by to gawk and stalk Matt."

I rolled my eyes and said "Skip the teen drama and get to it."

She sighed and continued "I had to pretend to use the bathroom even though I didn't really have to go 'cause i'm a doofus. I knew when I saw Katherine there that it wasn't Elena because she was at home, I tried to get out of there but she was too quick, then she told me to deliver a message."

Stefan's frown lines appeared on his forehead as he asked "What was the message?" Caroline gulped and muttered "She said to tell you both that she wants the moonstone tonight at the Masquerade ball or she will rip this town apart until it rains blood."

Stefan shook his head and stated "She wants to do it in public, killing Mason threw her off guard." I stated with a grin "She's running scared and running out of tricks." Stefan mumbled whilst deep in thought "We can't underestimate her. We have to play this smarter than her." Caroline asked with frustration "Can't we just give her the moonstone so she'll leave?" I shook my head and argued "No, Katherine's not getting dick. I've had it. I'm gonna go to the Masquerade and i'm gonna kill her, tonight."

Stefan stepped towards me and muttered "You're not gonna kill her." I pointed my finger in his direction and snapped "Don't give me that goody goody crap." Stefan smiled and said "You're not gonna kill her." I challenged "Oh, really?"

Stefan nodded and answered with confidence "Because I am."

I saw the confidence in Stefan's smile and grinned wickedly, liking this side to Stefan. Looks like we had a plan, and tonight only one person would die, and that will be Katherine.

 

~Ally's POV;~

I opened my eyes slowly and as they came into focus I found a piece of paper sitting on my bedside cabinet, it read;

Good morning, well in your case afternoon, Miss Wright ;) Talk later. Salvatore.

I smirked and headed straight to the shower, to start my day. Once I was fully awake, washed and dry I walked into my bedroom and picked out an outfit. I had decided on my black skinny jeans, black boots, black t-shirt and Damon's leather jacket, that I still hadn't gave back, but he didn't seem to mind.

I walked over to my phone and noticed there was one unread message from Elena, it read;

Hey, fancy coming over today? Me, Jenna, Jeremy and Alaric are just gonna sit and watch some tv, a normal night in?x

I smiled and answered; Yeah sure, i'll be over in a minute x I walked downstairs and made myself a quick mug of coffee, to give me an extra boost.

Once I had finished my coffee I grabbed my keys and left the house, I came to a stop at the top of the porch steps when my dad got out of his car, an apologetic smile lifting his lips. I ran down the stairs and into his embrace, after spending each day missing him. I had to act like his absence didn't bother me but it did, I had missed him, alot.

I whispered with teary eyes "Where have you been?" He whispered back "I've been working sweetheart, but i'm back now." He pulled back and asked "You're going out?" I smiled and said "I'm going to Elena's for a bit."
