I snapped urgently "Tell me." Satine looked up and stated nervously "You have - You have a brother, Ally."

~Ally's POV;~

My stomach dropped, and everything stopped. I mumbled with overwhelming confusion "I - I what?" Damon asked from beside me "Come again?" Satine nodded and muttered "You have a brother." I searched her face for any signs of joking to find she was serious, I have a brother.

Her words were ringing through my head, but they wouldn't make sense, sound true to me. I couldn't seem to understand or find the right words, or the right questions to ask. I mumbled "I - Is he? When?" Satine stepped towards me and answered with a small fragile smile "His name's Nathan, he's three years older than you. He was safe with me, but you, you weren't. I had to look after him, and you were wanted, I had to give you away..."

Nathan. My brother. He was 20 years old. I had already missed 17 years of my brothers life. Did he look like me? What was he like?

I was completely lost for words, what could I possibly say? So many questions were circling around in my head. Where was he now? Did he know about me? Why didn't Satine introduce us earlier?

I asked with interest "Nathan. Has he ever asked about me?" Satine half smiled, her eyes glossy with tears, as she answered "All the time. He's always wanted to see you-" I stepped towards her and asked, feeling hurt that he hadn't, "Why hasn't he?" Satine looked down and answered "It wasn't safe for him, the timing was just never right." I frowned and mumbled "You've had 17 years of my life to find the right time. You just wouldn't." Satine looked up again and said with upset in her voice "I'm sorry Ally."

I looked down at the ground as she continued "I should of been a better mom, I let you down. You deserved better than that, sweetie." The way she was speaking began to hint that she was gonna disappear out of my life any second now. I couldn't let that happen. She was still my birth mom. Satine said with tears escaping her eyes "You're gonna survive this, and you're gonna see Nathan one day, and you're gonna be there for each other. He'll look after you. You'll have a future. It's gonna be ok, you're gonna be ok." I pleaded calmly, holding back tears, "Just please, don't leave me again. I need you."

Satine closed the space between us and reached out, brushing the hair out from my face and tucking it behind my ear. Satine mumbled with upset "I'm sorry." The look in her eyes was fear, and sadness. I shook my head, refusing to let her just leave.

But Satine stepped away from me and gingerly took a ring off of her finger, throwing it to the ground, allowing the sun to hit her. Before I could even register what was happening, Satine burst into flames before my eyes.

I gasped as her screams of agony hit my eardrums and the heat of the flames that were burning Satine was against my skin. I screamed with shock "No!" I went to try and help her somehow but I felt Damon reach out and hold me back, his arms around my chest, keeping me from going near the flames that were slowly burning Satine's flesh.

I tried to fight against Damon's restraining hands as I cried "No, Satine... Mom!" Satine's screams came to a stop as what was left of her body fell to the ground, the flames fading. I clung to Damon's arms as I stared at what was left of Satine with horror and disbelief. She was gone.

I couldn't calm my heavy breathing or my racing heart, I thought she was just going to leave Mystic Falls and never come back, but instead she had left entirely. She was dead. I had no mom, birth or foster. They were both gone, in the same cemetery. I couldn't believe my eyes, I mean, yeah she had let me down alot, but she was my birth mom. I had always hoped we could of sorted things out, but now, she's gone.
