Chapter 1 - Katherine's return.

Elena's POV;

I walked through the front door and called "Jeremy, you up?" I looked up the stairs then heard a smash come from the kitchen, catching my attention.

I walked slowly down the corridor and into the kitchen to see John lying on the floor, clutching at his bloody stomach.

I gasped in shock and ran over to him, kneeling at his side I felt panic rush through me. What do I do? Think, think! I grabbed the tea towel from the table and applied pressure on John's wound with it as I also grabbed the phone and dialled 911.

As John grunted in pain I pressed the phone to my ear and heard the operator say "Hello, 911, what's your emergency?" I mumbled urgently down the phone "Hi, I-I need an ambulance to 2104 Maple Street." John mumbled something under his breath so I whispered with worry "What?" John grunted through the pain "Behind you." I looked at his eyes in fear as he stared over my shoulder. I gasped in fright and spun around to see nothing was there.

I dropped the phone onto the floor and picked up the knife beside me as I walked into the living room and searched for whatever was here. I stood there nervously waiting for the attacker to show but it was silent, empty.

Suddenly someone ran past from behind me and I gasped with fright and spun around to see nothing again, this must be a vampire. But who?

I went to walk towards the kitchen when someone ran past me again and the front door slammed shut from behind me. I turned towards the door and gasped with shock and worry. Who was doing this? And why?

I looked at the stairs and whispered with concern "Jeremy."

I rounded the corner and sprinted up the stairs as I screamed with worry "Jeremy!" I ran into his room and found him asleep on his bed. I hurried over to Jeremy and shook him by the shoulders as I pleaded with teary eyes "Please, Jeremy, please wake up." After a few shakes his eyes snapped open and he let out a gasp.

He was alive.

I exhaled in relief and looked at him with worry as he panted for breath and looked around his room frantically. What had Jeremy done?

 

Ally's POV;

I walked down towards Elena's and stared with confusion and concern as an ambulance arrived outside of her house along with a police car. I ran up the porch steps and gasped as John got pushed out on a stretcher by some paramedics. What happened here?

I went to walk inside when a police officer kept me back, that's when Elena called from the stairs "She's ok." The police officer slowly pulled his hand away as I ran over to Elena and hugged her close, I whispered "What the hell happened?"

Elena whispered with upset "John got stabbed, I don't know who did it but they were here when I was but they ran off. And Jeremy, he took some of Anna's blood and some pills, he said he tried to become a vampire." I gasped and pulled away, shocked and dissapointed that Jeremy would want that for himself.

Suddenly Stefan was inside too and hugging Elena close to him. After a few moments Elena led both Stefan and I upstairs into Jeremy's room to make sure he was definitely not in transition. When we got to Jeremy's room I looked at him with sympathy and worry as he stared out of the window, upset and empty.

Stefan asked Elena "What happened?" Elena explained "He said that Anna gave him her blood and then he took these pills and now... I mean he looks fine but so do you. I just.. I don't know." Stefan walked over and grabbed Jeremy's face in his hands and looked directly into Jeremy's eyes. Jeremy argued "I'm fine ok? I feel exactly the same."
