Chapter 27

           STEVE's POV
'I don't mean this either' - she said bluntly looking away. The ground beneath me shook, I couldn't manage to utter a single word... She excused herself and left. I turned to Brandon who was more shocked than I was!
He moved closer to me for a hug but I signalled him to stop and walked swiftly to the door and banged my hand to the wall. A nail which was drilled into the wall pierced into my palm but it didn't hurt!
This feeling was new.. Not having anyone was much better than not being wanted by the one you love!
As I walked swiftly out of the house, I bumped into Lisa, my fiancé!
"Baby!" She smiled. She was always too good for me. Though I never gave her the importance she deserved,she still managed to smile.
She was behaving better after her small talk with Blaze the other day! She no longer clings on to me, no longer craves for my attention!
"Not now Lisa!" I moved past her.
"Can we talk for a minute?" I heard another voice from the back.
"Staceyyy!" I smiled and went back to hug her. I had to be careful with her small tummy bump.
"What's wrong?" She asked as I hugged.
"Like you don't know!" I answered looking away.
"I wanted to talk to you about it! See this!" She gave me a news paper and I small smile crept to my face.
"Why are you smiling?" Stace asked confused.
It was the second happiest news I've ever heard in my entire life... First was when I heard Blaze telling Al what she felt for me! I remember how her eyes sparkled when she said she loves me! I was the person alive.. The cancer, the treatment in Europe nothing seemed important! She loved me!!

"I gotta go!" I smiled and ran towards my car to the City Hospital. I had it all planned!

After a such a long time , everything fell into place. I felt so light, so right!!

'I just knew' she was going to be mine!!

"Steve!" I heard her voice echoing in the intensive care unit.
Eight years back when she was unable to walk, I sent Stace to tell her that I've been through an accident. She came down running and hugged me tight! Though slaps followed.. I don't care! I don't care as long as she is with me!!

I wanted to try that again, I wanted to know if she would come running to me to the hospital and tell me how much she loves me when she sees me dying!
I took the help of one of my friends who was a doctor to set up everything! I asked him to lift her call and act as if I've been through a real bad accident.
I just hoped that she doesn't cancel the wedding and make a big mess! I didn't want my whole dramatic family crying in the hospital!

"It's his last few minutes!" My doctor friend, Micheal said.
"Please do something! Money is not an issue at all! Call for the best doctors you have!" She cried.
It was terrifying for me to see her in pain but I couldn't help! She had been lying to me for a week now.. From eight years to herself and I really can't maintain this fucking distance between our lips any longer!

"Ma'am! We are trying our best! There are some issues which medicine alone can't cure!" Micheal said.
Way to go Micheal!

"Can I talk to him alone for a few minutes?" She said. I heard people leaving the room. Thank god!
"Make it fast ma'am! He doesn't have much time!" Micheal should be an artist instead of a doctor. He was killing it!

"Steve!" She called sitting beside the bed.
"I love you Sweetheart!" She cried squeezing my hand.
      
         She finally said it!

I could feel the moisture in my eyes too.
"I didn't marry Blake! Parker isn't my biological son! I lied to you Steve! Please get up! Steve please! I've never fallen out of love with you Steve! You are the only one for me baby! Get up! I didn't want Lisa to face anything that I've faced! I got used to loneliness Steve! I love you so much Steve!"
She cried all along. She kept rubbing off the tears that flowed down my cheeks! I couldn't control either.
