PURITY
Is is okay to watch a show with bad stiff in it if it's mostly good stuff?
Would you drink a tall, creamy Oreo milkshake if it had a little bit of poison in it? What if the milkshake looked delicious? What if it was just a tiny drop of poison (not enough to kill you, just enough to make you sick)? Would you drink it? You have the same choice about what you feed your mind. A show might look good... But the bad parts are poison to your mind. One of your goals, according to Psalm 119:9, should be to stay pure, which you do by keeping your mind pure. If you can't cut out the bad stuff of a show or if you're wondering if you should really be watching it – then turn it off.
"Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you." – Psalms 86:11
"(9) How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. (10) I have tried hard to find you – don't let me wander from your commands. (11) I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. (12) I praise you, O Lord; teach me your decress. (13) I have recited aloud all the regulations you have given us. (14) I have rejoiced in your laws as much as riches. (15) I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. (16) I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word. (17) Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word. (18) Open my eyes to the wonderful truths in your instructions. (19) I am only a foreigner in the land. Don't hide your commands from me! (20) I am always overwhelmed with the desire for your regulations." - Psalms 119:9-20
"Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth." - John 17:17
BE BLESSED AND STICK WITH THE WORD!!
