I didn't really know what to do, so I just went to the supermarket. I was honestly just putting things in my shopping cart, not even knowing if we already had them.

"Elsa?" Some one says. I look up and see Susie smiling at me.

"Sue!" I smile and hug her.

"Oh my goodness, look at you" she smiles, "is that from the crash?" She asks pointing at my cast.

"You know?"

"Everybody does, it's been on the news all week. Where's Jack?"

"He's at the Trevor's, we're staying there until we find our own place."

"You two are moving in together?"

"Well, we got married" i say shyly.

"I knew it!" She says and hugs me. I'm forcing a smile by this point. "Aren't you happy?" She asks. "I know a fake smile when I see one."

"I don't know, we had a fight, but it's normal, and I've been a little stressed" I say and quickly wipe a small tear.

She looks at my cart and laughs shaking her head. "Your pregnant" she says looking back at me.

"You know?"

"Come on" she says and wraps her arms with mine. She puts down her basket filled with groceries.

"But what about-"

"I can go shopping later, and let's be honest, you do not need 6 bags of bagels" she says and leads me out the door. "I suppose you don't have a car now either" she says.

"Right again" I say as we walk down the streets. It was a little chilly, so I was glad I wore a scarf. Susie buttoned her small coat. "What am I doing?" I ask out loud.

"Well, we're walking down the street now, and I'm kind of hoping that we could stop for something to eat" she says and I laugh a little. "I could help you figure it out, if you tell me exactly what happened."

I hesitate at first, but then I start from when Jack was in the hospital. It took a while to explain everything. I wasn't even finished and we were at a small cafe, sitting across from each other. "And a water for me" I say to the waitress. Susie had gotten coffee and we each has half a croissant.

"I told him to do whatever he wanted to, and that I would help pay for it like the plan. Then, I lied about where I was going, and left" she looks at me with soft eyes. "It's just too much, too fast" I say.

"I know Elsa, I know" she says, "but think about it, you two got married and when you had gotten pregnant. If that plane hadn't crashed you would've been dealing with the same thing."

"I hadn't thought about that" I say and she smiles.

"Of course you didn't, you were just so in love with him. And that's the problem, he's still in that 'phase' and you've let reality take over. He believes that you two can do it"

"Oh no, I probably made him feel horrible, by leaving him like that" I say.

"This baby survived the crash for a reason Elsa, you two lived for a reason" she says. "Now, enough of that. I need to know about your sister."

"Well.." I say but I'm interrupted when she coughs. She continues to cough and cough. "Sue, you okay?" I ask.

"I'm fine" the elder woman says but then falls to the floor.

"Oh my God, Sue?!" I say and kneel down next to her. "Somebody call an ambulance!" I shout and people rush over.

"Mam are you okay?" The waitress asks but Susie doesn't answer. At least 3 people were on the phone with 911.

"Sue" I cry.

"Elsa" Jack says walking in the waiting room. I quickly stand up and run to him hugging him. "I came as fast as I could, what's wrong"

"It's Susie, she had a heart attack" I cry and burry my face in his shirt. He hugs me even tighter.

"I'm so sorry Els" his voice cracks. He's crying but not as much as I was.

"I-I can't reach anyone-"

"Shh, it's okay, it's okay. We're here for her" he says.

"Thanks" I say, as Jack hands me a cup of tea and takes a seat next to me. We're sitting out in the porch, watching cars go by in the rain. We hadn't spoken much, and we left the hospital about three hours ago, and I finally stopped crying. Trevor was on a date, so it was just me and Jack for the night.

"She didn't have anyone" I say breaking the silence. "Aside us and my family, the was no one. Her son died in the military, and her husband isn't around either. She was the last one."

"She didn't deserve that" he says. I look over at him and he continues to stare out at the street.

"I'm sorry, I over reacted. And, you're right, I can't just have a meltdown" I say and he looks at me.

"It's not right, you deserve a say in this too, I know you-"

"But I do want it, now at least. I really believe we can do this" I say and he smiles. "I've been thinking, if it's a boy, the name could be Jake"

"Sounds too much like Jack" he says.

"Now you see why I don't want Ella" I smile.

"But Ella is such a pretty name, and it's adorable, why can't we-"

"No Jack" I laugh and he pouts.

"Love you" he says.

"Love you too."

Yes, Susie is dead.
