I rul ho, e clutching our bag of food. I have to tell Touka right away, if she didn't already know at least. She had to know, this was huge news.

I run inside leaving my shoes at the front door.

"Touka! Touka!" I yell, dropping off the ramen on the kitchen table.

"Whattt?" she yells back from the bathroom.

"Have you seen the news? Oh my God L is taking on the Kira case and he just found out that he lives in the Kanto region and that he can't kill certai-"

"Woah, woah back up there." Touka says slamming the bathroom door open.

"L? You mean the L you were obsessed with sophomore year?" she says. "God I never thought I'd hear about him again I thought you were finally out of your law and order phase, (Y/N)."

It was true. I had a bit of an obsession with L. I was drawn to whoever they were. The fact that L had solved many cases and saved countless lives, yet didn't want any recognition for it fascinated me. It took a special kind of person to get my admiration, and well, L got it.

"Have you listened to anything I've said?" I said rolling my eyes. "Come on, I got ramen," motioning for her to follow me.

"Ramen! I love you. Also no after I heard L I made sure to block everything out just like I usually do." she laughs playfully, pushing me.

"You're so annoying, this is serious Touka. L took on the Kira case." I say, handing her a container of ramen.

She pauses, snapping her beard up abruptly.

"The Kira case?" "Well why didn't you say that in the first place idiot." she says, eyes-wide.

I sigh. "I did but you weren't listeni-"

"Finally someone's taking this sh*t seriously, she interrupted "L can put an end to this." She says, staring out the window.

She stops for a brief moment. "Dad..." she trails off.

"I know," I say, looking down holding back my tears. "This is what we've been waiting for. Some sort of justice to be served. I'm sure L can be the one to do it." I say, wiping my eyes, forcing a smile. Touka looked back up at me, noticing my doubt. Tearing as well, she smiled back.

"This is good. Really good!" she exclaims in assurance. "L will find Kira, he has to." She said, popping an egg into her mouth, chewing happily.

I could tell she was trying to hold back her tears. I could tell she was trying to stay strong for me. She was always the optimist in the family. Even after Dad died, she was the first to make me laugh again. I wondered how she could stay so strong and suppress her emotions. It killed me inside, knowing that she had probably spent nights alone crying, but was always there for me when I needed her.

"This is some good ramen, right?" she says, lightening the mood.

"Yeah, it tastes just as good as it usually does." I say giggling.

-------Time Skip 2 Days--------

I stand in the shower letting the water run down my face. It was too early for this sh*t. Touka wanted us to go to SpaceLand today to get the Kira case off our minds. We had free passes that our father had bought us for the year, so we thought it'd be best to utilize them while we can. For the past two days we've been glued to our phones, keeping up with the case. There's no way the Kira investigators are making all the information public. There has to be something missing. From L's broadcast we know that Kira can only kill if they know their name and face, but how is he doing this? Are there any killing patterns that could reveal information about Kira? There has to be so much more to the case than what they're telling us. L wouldn't want to release certain information to the public because it would cause chaos. If only I knew what the information is. I feel so helpless.

I step out of the shower and wrap myself in my towel, ringing out my hair. After lotioning, I put on a nice shirt and finish it off with my signature dark- washed jeans and combat boots. I decide to leave my hair down and let it air-dry.

"(Y/N)! Are you ready??" Touka asks from the living room.

"Yeah!" I reply, looking back at myself in the mirror for a couple moments before grabbing my bag and walking to the living room.

"Alright I got the snacks, water, keys, anything else?" she asks looking up at me.

"Nah, I think we're good." I say, grabbing my jacket out of the closet.

"Alright let's make like a tree and leave." she says heading for the door.

"Yeah, that was bad, never say that again." I reply as we both chuckle.

It took us about 15 minutes to walk from our apartment to the bus stop.

"Wow the bus is right on time ayyy" Touka says while the bus pulls up.

We grab our belongings off the bench and walk towards the bus.

"(Y/N)?" A familiar voice said while laughing.

I turned around to see who was calling me. I sighed.

  Great

"Hello Light."
