Ch. 10 Welcome to The Task Force

I stared back at the 8 men looking at me with confusion on their faces.

"What?" Ide says turning to L, " You said she had a connection to her sister's death! I thought that was the whole reason Matusda basically kidnapped the girl!" Aizawa snapped at Ryuzaki.

"Huh? I-I didn't kidnap her, she came with me!" Matsuda said, looking at me frantically.

"Everyone calm down." L asserted. "She could be lying."

They all gasped and turned back towards me.

'Lying? What the f*ck'

"She better be, because if we just involved a random girl into this investigation for no reason, I'll be pissed the hell off." Mogi said angrily plopping on the couch beside Ide.

'Random girl? Who the hell did these men think they were'

"Exactly!" Aizawa said angrily.

"What difference does it make if she's a girl?" Matsuda said quietly.

"Shut up, Matsuda" Mogi and Aizawa said in unison.

"No, he's right." L said. "I believe you underestimate (Y/N), Whether she's lying about being Kira or not. She could be very useful to us." L says shifting his focus back onto me.

"Look, I'm not lying." I said frantically, turning to Mogi. "The doctors said my sister wasn't stable enough to communicate." I said remembering what they had told me over the phone days before her death.

"Ryuzaki, didn't you say her number appeared on the hospital's call log?" Chief Yagami said.

'That's not possible.'

"Wait, my number on the call log? What is he talking about?" I asked turning to L.

"Hey, I thought I was supposed to be a part of this Task Force, how am I supposed to help catch Kira if I'm not filled in on information like this?" Light says aggressively to L.

L pauses for a moment looking around the room until finally fixating his eyes on me again.

He turns around his back facing all of us, still standing.

"There might have been a mistake." L says in his monotone voice, analyzing his papers.

"A mistake!" Aizawa said, furrowing his brow. "Oh my god."

"Maybe...I somehow...missed something." L said raising one eyebrow.

He turns towards us again.

"At any rate, I didn't just bring you here as a suspect Ms. (Y/N)," L says as he furrowed his brow, looking me up and down.

I shifted uncomfortably.

'He really analyzed the hell out of people didn't he'

He continued, "I..." he trailed off... looking from my body back to my face slowly. His eyes focused on mine

"I..." L began again.

Chief Yagami and Mogi exchanged confused looks.

'Why was he stuttering?'

I looked back at him. He stared at me, not moving.

I wasn't able to keep eye contact for more than a couple seconds.

'Damn Matsuda was right, he is intimidating.'

I shifted back and forth looking at Matsuda and then Light. They were all staring at me. God this was so awkward..
