Ch. 14 The Bus

"So...what happened in there?" Light asks me as we walk back to my room.

I stare off slightly cringing as I remember what just happened with L.

'We literally almost kissed'

I smiled a little thinking about how amazing it felt to be that close to him.

"Oh he was just testing my deducting skills." I say looking back down at my feet trying to hide my smile.

"No.. I mean...when L grabbed your hand randomly in the middle of handing you your phone?  You really think we didn't notice?" Light says laughing, noticing me looking down.

'Oh'

"Yeah..." I say looking back up at him.

"I don't know what that was either. Maybe he was trying to read me? I don't know." I say back to Light.

"Maybe..." He says squinting his eyes.

I start to play back the events of the day in my head as we walk. And then it hit me. I had almost forgotten after what happened with L.

Raye.

"Light" I say abruptly.

"What's up?" He says as we get to the front of my door.

'Um this was going to take a while'

"Uh do you want to come in? I need to talk to you." I ask before I open the door.

Light looks at his watch and back up at me.

"Um..." He says as he furrows his brow.

"Yeah I can hang around for a bit." He said, gripping his bag as he smiled at me.

"Cool." I say as I open the door to my room.

We walk in as we throw our bags on the bed.

Light walks over to the window and looks out of it, taking his coat off before throwing it on the bed next to his bag.

"Pretty..." He said as I took my shoes off.

"Right?" I say chuckling a little.

"Okay, " I say walking to the bathroom.

"The 12 FBI agents that Kira killed..." I say, grabbing a hair tie.

Light walks in the bathroom and leans on the door frame with his arms crossed.

"What about them?" He says, looking at me with a look of confusion.

"Light..." I say flipping my hair over.

He watches me in the mirror as I throw my hair in a ponytail.

"Raye. Raye Penber?" I ask through the mirror.

He looks back at me confused...

We turn to each other.

"Yes......the one that leaked the FBI agents information." he said slowly.

"You don't remember? The space land bus-jacking." I ask, baffled.

He looks at me, furrowing his brow.

"Yeah he was on the bus behind me." He says nonchalantly.

I look at him my mouth slightly dropped.

'Okay so he did remember'

"Yeah don't you think that's weird? The same man that leaked the FBI agents information was on the same bus as Touka and us ..." I ask.

Light looks at me blankly.
