(Y/N)'s POVI went on with Papyrus' puzzles as usual and talked with Sans at the end of each one. He said what he always says, except we would exchange a few puns. I got to the bridge and Papyrus decided not to activate his final (and most dangerous) trap. The weapons, cannon, torch, and dog all retreated and Papyrus walked away. Sans stayed where he was and watched me.
I walked up to him and stared at him for a moment. I looked away as I realized I was being creepy and made a pun. As we joked around, I wasn't really paying attention. I was wondering if I should explain what was going on. I decided that I would. I needed help if I was going to understand what was going on here. It was true that I had always wanted to be in the game, but I never expected it to actually happen, and I didn't think that it was a good thing. It was just too good to be true and I wanted to know how I got here.
"Sans I need your help." I told him and he looked a little surprised.
"Need some puns or something?" He asked. I shook my head.
"Can we go somewhere warmer to talk?" I asked and he nodded and grabbed my hand. I blushed and looked down to hide it.
"I know a shortcut. Close your eyes." I did as he said and closed them and opened them a minute later to find myself standing in Grillbys. That meant I was in Snowdin.
"Oh! Hold on." I said as I ran outside. I needed to save, I guess it was a habit. I also didn't want to screw up the talk I was about to have with Sans. I ran over to where I knew the save place was and pressed on the dot and as the save button popped up I quickly pressed it and walked away as if nothing happened. I walked towards Grillbys and noticed that Sans had just walked out after I saved.
I'm kinda glad he didn't see that... I thought and ran over to him, leading the skeleton back inside.
"Sorry about that. Should we sit down?" I asked and he nodded leading me over to a barstool. I sat down on a whoopie cushion and heard Sans chuckle. I laughed a little before it faded as I remembered why I was here. It wasn't exactly a laughing matter, and Sans probably would get pretty upset. I took a deep breath and readied myself for what was about to happen.
"Burger or fries?" Sans asked and I chose what I always chose, or I guess what Frisk always chose.
"Fries. As usual." I replied and watched as Sans looked at me surprised.
"And ketchup. As usual. Then it will spill all over my food." I told him and Sans looked at me, weary and confused.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"I'm not Frisk, if that's what you're thinking. I mean... I don't think so. I don't know how I'm here, I'm not supposed to be and you know it too, don't you? But I guess I've sort of watched Frisk and uh... Controlled them for the most part. It's hard to explain..." I trailed off and looked at Sans. He was covering his left eyesocket and his right one was pure black. I cussed internally. He was most likely upset knowing that Frisk had been controlled.
"Explain anyway." Sans commanded in a scary voice.
"It's a game. This. All of it. Just coding in a computer. I've played the game. Frisk was the main character. Now I'm in the game. It seems I've taken the place of Frisk." I did my best to explain. Sans uncovered his left eyesocket, now both his eyesockets were simply black. It was better then one black and one with the blue flame, but it wasn't exactly great.
"I don't understand, kid." He said and I laughed.
"Neither do I." I admitted. Then glanced at Sans again nervously.
"So you're saying that nothing is real? It's all just a game." Sans asked seeming a little angry. But hey, I would be mad to learn that I was just living in a video game.
"Well, you're obviously real. I'm not sure. I need your help figuring it out... And Sans, just so you know, I don't want to fight anyone. Especially not Papyrus. I don't want to meet you in the judgement hall. I don't want to fight Asgore and I don't care if I make it onto the surface or not." I told the skeleton as I got off of the barstool.
"You should probably get Paps. I'm not going to fight him ever again." I told Sans before I walked out of Grillbys. I had 140 G from sparing monsters so I decided to stay at the inn. I went upstairs to the room and flopped onto the bed. I went to sleep right away.
I was standing in pure darkness. I felt my heartbeat increase. I never liked the darkness. Evil lurked in it. Then I heard footsteps making their way towards me. There was a familiar laugh. It was insane. I felt my soul leave my body and appear before me. A figure walked up to it and stared at it for a minute before laughing again.
"It's mine, (Y/N)..." A voice purred. "You're mine..."
I knew who this was...
I woke up with a gasp and started breathing heavily for a minute. I was terrified but I didn't know why. I forgot my nightmare. I only knew that I was terrified and that wasn't good. I sat up and took a shower and got dressed. Grabbing my stuff, I headed downstairs and paid the inn lady 80 G.
"How long was I asleep?" I asked.
"About nine hours." She replied, after checking a clock (made by Alphys, I assumed) and I nodded.
"Thanks." I called out to her as I left.
"Come again!" She told me. I went to the shop next door and spent the rest of my G on food. I wandered around Snowdin for awhile, not knowing what to do. I didn't want to go to the surface, what would be the point? I didn't have any purpose here. I didn't have purpose anywhere. I just carried on. I sighed and decided that I needed to think.
The comic above inspired this chapter. Hope you liked it.
