That evening coming home our little street was dominated by this big moving truck. I knew the house across the street had been empty for a while now but nobody ever said It had been sold. It must have been super short notice. I dropped my bag at the house to find Andrew wasn't there yet so I figured I would greet our new neighbors. It was probably a family since the houses were big in this street. I checked my image in the mirror. I looked fine, hair in loose curls, not to much make-up and my clothes were fine to. Perfectly presentable.
I closed the door and went across the street. There were lights on in the living room and I could hear laughter coming from it. A family, there was no doubt.

I rand the doorbell and a few seconds later my husband opened the door. I had a deep frown on my face. What was he doing here? Usually he hated family's. Every time I brought up kids he would get grumpy. He disliked kids... I figured when the time came he would change his mind.
"Babe! You never guess who is our new neighbor" He bellowed with laughter pulling me inside wrapping his arm around my waist. He kissed me and I bend away from him. He had been drinking and smoking! Ugh I hated that. Okay I had a drink now and then but smoking! It was a horrible habit and he knew I hated it!
"I have no idea" I answered. Although a thought crossed my mind. Not much later that thought was confirmed by the next man welcoming me.
"Em! I told you I would see you later!"
Seth walked into the hallway that was completely empty at this stage.
"Come on in, we have pizza. Andrew told me you liked the pepperoni one" He gestured us to come inside.
I sighed, I didn't like pepperoni and I had told Andrew so many times. I wasn't keen on making him angry now so I kept quiet.
The living room was dominated by a gigantic, dark grey, L shaped couch.
Andrew and Seth were the only ones here. "So, Seth was telling me about his last trip to Egypt. We have to visit that place" Andrew laughed dropping himself on the couch and pulling me along.
"I told you that" I smiled vaguely. I always wanted to travel distant places. Andrew however never agreed and usually we ended up in Vegas where he could gamble.

"Where has your last trip been to then?" Seth asked looking at me. I averted my eyes. Gosh why was he looking at me like that!? I was married for god sake!
"Vegas" Andrew told him. I zipped open my coat and took it off. "Of course, I knew your weak spot was gambling" Seth laughed taking his eyes away from me and looking back at Andrew.
"Made any money?"
Andrew laughed and shook his head. No he had lost money. Money I had been saving up for a new car. He told me he would win me one. In stead of that he lost it and we had a huge fight. It didn't make my list of best trips ever.

"You going to the Halloween party?" Seth asked Andrew handing me a piece of Pizza. Pepperoni... great. I started taking of the bits of pepperoni and fed them to my husband.
"Maybe... my lady will be going as some sexy princess so yeah... I have to watch her right!" More laughter. I put my attention to my pizza as I sat on the couch leaning against Andrew.
"Sexy princess. Interesting" Seth said putting his eyes on me again.
"You should definitely go and keep an eye on her too then. You never know who tents to steel your princess away"
"They would be stupid to because If anybody touches my girl I will kill them with my own hands! And she knows that don't you baby?" He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close kissing me kind of roughly.
I could feel Seth's eyes burn as we kissed. Once Andrew let me breath again he nodded.
"You should keep her safe indeed" He said his voice going low. I focused on my pizza again.

An hour later the pizza was finished (Andrew ate all) And I was ready to go home. "Let me take a piss first" Andrew chuckled making me roll my eyes. "We live right across the street Drew"
"Oh stop bitching!" He snapped walking to the bathroom.
I sighed and got up to put my coat back on. Seth got on his feet and walked me to the door.
"He is treating you right I hope"
I was kind of surprised by his question "Yeah... of course" I answered right away. Maybe a little to fast.
I could almost see him wonder if I was speaking the truth.

"Time to go babe!" Andrew slapped my ass making me jump. Man I hated when he did that! But I managed a grin and said "Come on you little drunk" while ignoring Seth's looks.
"Bye Seth! See you"
Seth waved us goodbye and once we turned away from him I heard him shut the door.

"I am not a drunk you know!" Andrew snapped at me as soon as we got home.
I stared at him... what? He closed the door and slapped the light switch. How did this make him angry? He only got angry when I started talking about traveling, babies or money. Not about his drinking.
"You... You had a good few beers" I stuttered taking of my coat mentally scolding myself. Note to self... don't call him anything when he has been drinking!
"I am sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I won't say it again!" followed swiftly. Apologizing usually worked the best if I did it on time.
"Just shut up!" He fumed grabbing my arm and almost dragging me to the living room. "A beer please" He ordered trying to sound nice and pushing me toward the kitchen.
"Right" I muttered doing what he said. I didn't want to challenge him any further at this stage. I already knew this night wasn't going to be fun for me.
