Chapter 16.

The next morning i was woken by banging on the wall next to mine it was starting to piss me off so i stood up and walked to that was banging back.

"SHUT UP IM TRYING TO SLEEP"

The banging stopped which i was thankful for then i jumped back in shock at what i heard next.

"OH THIS IS RICH, IS THAT YOU SOPHIA?" Nicks voice yelled threw the wall, oh my god Nick is my neighbor.

I kept my mouth shut walking backwards until the back of my legs hit the bed, i sat down rocking back and forth as i listened to Nick laugh loudly.

I jumped to my feet and ran to the door banging on it.

"GUARD GUARD" i yelled, moments later the door was opened revealing a young guard.

"Yes?" He asked.

"Please i need you to call the warden its important tell him Sophia genson needs to talk to him here now please" he frowned stareing at me then grabbed his walkie talkie typing a number in then brought it to his lips.

"Uh sir, im sorry to disturb you but an inmate by the name of Sophia Genson wants to talk to you she is in solitary confindment what do i tell her?" He said nervously.

"Why is she there? No never mind tell her i'll be there right away" the wardens voice came from the other end.

"Yes sir" he put his walkie talkie away and looked at me.

"Thank you sir" i said to him before turning around and going back to my bed laying down watching the door close.

10 minutes later my door was opening and in entered the warden and the same Guard from before sanding by the door, i quickly stood up and ran to the warden hugging him.

"Sophia whats wrong? What on earth are you doing here?" He asked as i pulled away.

"I attacked my Sister when she visited yesterday so i was brought here i didnt mind i needed to be alone after what happened yesterday but, its Nick hes in the room next to me and he knows im here he wouldnt stop laughing at me, please sir move me to a different room im scared" i said holding myself.

"Hey calm down, unfortunatly the rest of the confindment rooms are full but i dont see why i cant take you back to your cell and you just stay in there for a few day to serve your confindment sentence" he said just then Nicks voice sounded making me jump.

"Aww come on sir let her stay we were just having fun"

"SHUT UP NICK" the warden yelled.

"Come on ill escort you back" he held out his hand and i greatfully took it and we walked hand in hand all the way back to my cell, he opened the door and jay was still asleep.

"Thank you sir" i said before slowly managing to climb onto the top bunk when i finally got up i got under the blanket.

"I will come and check on you later alright but for now get some sleep" he said before leaving the room closing the door.

"Are you okay Sophia?" Jays voice sounded in the darkness.

"Im fine, goodnight"

The next few days i spend in the cell i bearly saw jay and whenever he was in the cell with me i stayed on the top bunk facing the wall pretending to be alseep, i know its not fair to him but i dont know how he will treat me now that he knows im in here for murder.

It was 9:30 at night 4 days later the side lamp was on so i knew Jay was reading, i think its time we talk so i jumped off the bed and turned to face Jay, he watched me stand here not saying a word.

I bent down and moved the blanket from him he was sitting up against the head of the bed with his legs slightly apart so i climbed in between them and lied my head on his chest with my left hand resting also on his chest.

I dont know what it was maybe the sudden contact with Jay again or just that he hasnt pushed me away well what ever it was had me suddenly in tears.

"Hey hey hey, baby whats wrong?" He asked wrapping his arms around me tightly causing me to cry harder.

"Please dont me mad at me" i cried.

"I could never be mad at you, what makes you think otherwise?"

"But i killed my sisters husband, im a murderer" i buryed my head in his chest and cried.

"Shh its okay, hey do you wanna know why im in here?" He asked, i thought about it then sat up wiping my nose with the back of my nose.

"Okay" i agreed trying to calm down, jay grabbed hold of my body and turned me around so i was facing away from him and pulled me to him so my back was laying on his front, he held my hands on my stomach and got comfortable.

"Where do i start?" He paused to think then continued.

"Well obviously it was a few years ago now but it was christmas day and all my family was over for christmas lunch, everything was going well, everyone was laughing having a good time then after lunch we started playing games you know? Like pictionary, monopoly and such well the kids were all in a seperate room while the adults where drinking and playing but, my niece who was 5 at the time came in to ask her mother for a drink of water, so my sister gets up to get her daughter a drink when the father of my niece who was drunk decided while everyone was distracted he was cheat so he lent over the table and stole some money from the bank well thats when everything went down hill" he lent over and kissed my head then sat back.

"Since he was so drunk while leaning over the table he threw up, all over the table and everyone, everyone jumped up screaming in disgust yelling at him saying how they want him to leave and stuff like that, you know harmless things. Anyways he wasnt really fussed about them but the was one person that he was bothered about, my fathers friend he was on probation and no one knew he had a knife on him" he paused seeming uncomfortable.

"You dont have to keep going if you dont want to?" I said sitting up.

"No! Its fine, im fine, he pointed the knife at my brother in law i jumped in the way just in time" he moved a little turning to the side showing a scar that i dont remember seeing.

"Oh my god! He stabbed you?" I asked shocked wrapping my arms around his neck hugging him.

"Its okay Sophia, anyways everyone stpped what they were doing horrified that i was stabbed but i kept going, call it an adreniline rush but i pulled the knife out of my hip and stabbed him back, i past out after that but when i came to i heard he didnt make it so i was arrested for manslaughter, what im trying to say is im not mad at you for killing your sisters husband, you had your reasons just like i did that doesnt mean your a murderer" he finished kissing me then pulled the blanket over you turning the light off holding me close.

"Go to sleep Sophia"
