Dave's POV

I woke up to the sound of my phone's alarm going off, signaling that it was time to get my ass out of bed and go to my first day at my new school. Fun. I dragged myself out of my bed and slipped on my shades, then proceeded to the bathroom. I quickly showered, changed, and all that jazz. By then, I had enough time to make some toast and walk to school, yelling a goodbye to Bro on the way out. I decided to just walk to school because it wasn't that far and I wanted to put off being near all the new people as long as possible.

I walked through the doors of the school and headed to the main office to get my schedule. The lady behind the front desk handed the sheet of paper to me with a smile. I started off in a random direction, looking at the room numbers next to the doors to all of the classes, and finally finding my first period class somehow on time. I walked up to the teacher and told her that I was new and all that fun stuff. She pointed out an empty desk and smiled as I walked off. I took my seat and she began the class quite cheerfully. So far, it wasn't too bad, just judging by the teacher. However, it's not my favorite class. Science is pretty boring to me. I zoned out while she talked about quiz scores from the quiz the class took Friday. I studied the people around me. For one, the derpy kid next to me with the big, square glasses looked rather happy. The nerd probably got a 100% on the test. There were people who looked like they were ready to just crash and burn right at their desks, others looked indifferent to the class, more who looked bored out of their minds, 3 people were actually asleep, and yet none looked quite as happy as that derpy nerd kid.

The class was over soon enough and I headed to my second period: Math. Great. My most hated classes were the earliest ones and right after the other. I walked in and explained that I was new and yadda yadda yadda. The teacher told me to sit at whatever desk I wanted. He honestly look done with his job. And the students. I sat down in a desk in the back and prepared for absolute boredom. Who am I kidding ? I can't prepare for this much boredom. Who uses this in their daily life ? I don't think I'll ever get this shit. I again zoned out and studied the people in the class. There were about seven people sleeping, half the class taking notes, and the rest staring blankly at the walls. Surprisingly, the teacher looked more over everything than some of the students. I can tell that this class will be the least fun of them all. It seemed like it took a lot longer than 53 minutes for the bell to ring. Now I get to enjoy lunch. I put my earbuds in my ears, turned on the music on my phone, and got in line for school food. Maybe it'll poison me and I can leave. Probably not.

I sat in just about the last open seat in the whole lunch room. I kept to myself and ate my lunch, which tasted like shit, but, hey, a guy's gotta eat, and listened to music until the period was over. I looked at my schedule and felt a bit relieved. I had history next, then English, then Spanish, and finally ending with a free period. Basically, I have a break until I have to dive back into the hard stuff. I wandered the halls until I found my history class. I told the teacher the explanation and blah blah blah...

I sat in the back-ish. I always felt there was something about history that just... clicked with me. I understood it and enjoyed learning about all that past stuff. Its almost like it made a story in my head and I soaked it up like a little kid listening to a bedtime story. The topic for the new unit was about World War I, and, as much as I had learned it, the story was still always interesting. The period passed rather quickly, and I walked out of the door and soon found my next class.

English was okay, but I really only liked it when we learned about poetry. Poetry was like my little secret that was kept to myself, for the most part. I walked up to the teacher and guess what I told her ? Yeah, all that blah blah yadda yadda stuff. I sat down in the seat that she pointed out to me and class began. Sadly, the unit was not about poetry, but nonfiction. I didn't really care for nonfiction unless it was, well, history. I scanned over the room and saw part of the class look indifferent to everything going on, 3 or 4 people sleeping, a few people spacing out, and the rest distracting themselves by doodling or sneaking peeks at their phones, etc. When the class ended, I was not excited to go to Spanish. I don't even know why I'm taking it. I didn't even sign up for it. I figured I could just talk to the principal or someone about letting me change it.

I walked into the class and introduced myself to the teacher. Just same old thing. Except she told me to remove my sunglasses. I was kinda thrown off for a second. None of the other teachers seemed to give a shit whether or not I wore the sunglasses. I told her I had an eye condition and I had to wear them. She didn't take that for a second. She told me to stop messing around and take them off. Luckily, I had a note from Bro, and I handed it to her. She looked over it and huffed. That's right, the shades stay on. I sat at an empty desk and looked around at the class. It was the same as all the others, though I noticed that derpy dork from my science class. I sat through the painful lecture and prayed for the bell to ring. When it finally did, I all but jumped out of my chair and grabbed my bag. Now I had a free period, in which I could listen to music and hopefully get all or most of my homework done. If I got it all done, I would be able able to go home and hopefully chill with some apple juice and my turntables. That would be nice.

Thankfully, I did get all of my homework done, which meant I could go home and have an awesome time in complete comfort. When the dismissal bell chimed, I turned up my music loud enough to drown out the mass of loud human beings, but not loud enough for anyone else to hear it. When I got home, I went straight to the fridge and poured myself a nice cold glass of apple juice, then locked myself in my room, replaced my earbuds with headphones, and mixed tracks until my stomach told me it wanted food. After I ate, I went to bed and quickly fell asleep.

> Author's Note

Hello my wonderful Brotatoes ! I just had to write another story ^u^ I ship DaveJohn as much as I do Karezi, but now that I've finished that story, I figured I would write another one ! I'm going to try and make the chapters in this one longer because I never really noticed how short they were in the last story >*< In this one I'll aim for around 1,000. That works, right ? Anyway, thanks for reading this chapter. It was really just Dave goin' about his first day of school and everything, nothing really happening. But anyway, keep bein' awesome !
