Chapter 8 (Short Chapter)

Hayes' POV

I woke up later on and everyone was still in the waiting room. We all took up the seats in the waiting room. some on the floor, some on tables, and some in the chairs.

How long have we been sitting here?

I took my phone out of my back pocket and held it up to my face seeing what time it was.

I almost forgot Jr was on my chest because I almost dropped him standing up, which made him wake up.

"Daddy, we go home now." he said getting under my jacket.

"No we have to stay here until brother is okay." i said and he lifted his head up.

"But brother is okay."

"You don't know that."

"Yes he is he tell me." He said going back under my jacket. I sighed and walked over to Maddie was was asleep in the corner on Matt's shoulder. 

"Go lay down with uncle Nash." I said to him and he ran over to Nash and jumped on him. I walked over to Maddie and sat in front of her trying not to wake here but I wanted her to wake up at the same time, and I got lucky because her eyes opened.

"Are you going to yell at me again?" She asked looking down.

"Maybe." I joked and she sighed.

"Its not funny, I didn't mean for him to follow me out the room. I know its my fault that this happen and you don't have to keep saying it. I'm sorry I really am just please don't start yelling again." She said covering her face.

"Hey don't cry, please." 

"Why, he could be dead"

"No, he isn't. Don't say that." I said wiping her face. I wrapped my arms around her and she cried and cried and cried and cried..... and cried waking everyone up. She cried for at least three hours, no lie. Soon she cried herself to sleep and I sighed thanking the lord because I was getting tired of holding her.

"Hey, um which one of you are the dad of a baby boy. We don't have any of his information and we can't do anything to him now that he is out of surgery." A girl said walking out to us and I looked up at her then stood up.

"Okay, can you feel out these two papers please, then we can go in the back with him." She said.

"So he is okay right?" I asked

"Yes, he is sleeping I believe. Doctor said not to wake him but he should be up soon because the medicine is going to be gone pretty soon and he will wake up yelling because he will be in pain. You can pick him up but you can't touch his left side they said and that should be all." She said and I nodded taking the papers and pens from her. I sat down in a chair and started to fill out the papers then walked up to the desk and handed them the papers.

"Come on, lets go see your brother." I said picking up Jr off the ground next to Nash who was sleeping again.

I walked over to Matt and shook his shoulder.

"What Hayes?"

"Can you come with me to see Noah, i'm scared."

"Yeah, why haven't you woke up Maddie yet?"

"I was going to but she just went to sleep, can we just go real quick then we can come wake her up." I said and he nodded standing up. We walked through the door to his room and stopped.

"Wait what did they say about him?" He asked

"They said he was still alive and not to touch his left side, that's all I really heard her say, oh and they he would start crying when he wakes up but that's all I know." I said and and he nodded. I handed Jr to him and opened the door and walked in but he was laying in the bed sleeping.

I sat on the end of the bed and looked down at my hands waiting for him to start crying.

"He is alive, right?"

"Yeah Matt, that's what they told me."

"Okay, just making sure." He said and I nodded.

"Okay, well what do you want to talk about until he wakes up."

"Anything is good with me." 

"Okay, well are you still mad at Maddie?"

"I mean I was, but she was just trying to see what was going on and they don't always listen to her so she probably did tell him to stay in the room but they didn't know they were in danger so he thought he could just walk out and go eat or something since he was hungry but I don't know. I was pissed off so i was just yelling because he followed her out the room and I was just upset. Why?"

"She told me not to tell anyone but she thinks you are going to leave her."

"I could never, I have gone through so much with her since she was added to the family when she was ten and its almost been nine years since then and out of those nine, three of them I have called her my girlfriend and we get married next year. This is only making me hate myself more because I didn't do anything, I never do anything I just let it happen and we always end up in that stupid waiting room."

"That's not true, what about that one time when dad had us all in the room and you saved us, not anyone else, you did."

"Yeah, that's it, out of like ten or twenty I have helped once."

"Okay, but that one time makes up for all of them dude, just stop thinking about it for me, for Maddie, for Jr." He said and I put my head down again."

"Okay, can we talk about something else please?"

"Yeah, what is your favorite color?" He asked and I looked up and laughed.

"That's is why your my favorite brother." I said and he nodded smiling

"So how-"

"Daddy." One of the twins said cutting him off but I was to scared to look up and see who it was.

Hey Guys so i know I said I would update this weekend, which I will try to do but I decided to write this short chapter instead of a super long one and have you guys wait. Also sorry for the mistakes I'm really bad at going back to fix them lol Vote and comment please and so that's it I think and yea bye....
