Chapter Fourteen
Shaelynn's Point of View
Peter Pan would be so angry if he found out that I had left the hideout and ran into Danny, the boy who had betrayed him to be on Hook's side. I could never tell him what had happened, I don't think he would leave me alone I the hideout anymore.
I see why Peter and the boys had gave Danny the nickname Dread; he was dreadfully full of himself. He was sure that I could believe that Peter Pan was going to leave me alone against his word. I knew that Pan would never break his promise to me, he had never lied before.
"Don't believe everything you're told, darling."
Danny's words repeated in my thoughts once more, before I shut them out of my head. Danny was on Hook's side, and Hook is Peter's arch enemy; they were always up to no good. He was probably trying to make me side against Peter Pan and leave him like the other girls had. Peter told me Hook had tried to trick many of his visitors before also; and succeeded at times.
"Or so you think."
I kept searching through the trees trying to find the tree which led to the hideout, focusing on arriving back before Peter. I needed to pretend none of this had happened; for Peter's sake and mine.
I noticed a familiar peach tree, realizing that I had recently passed it. I remembered picking a fruit off and biting into it as I walked by.
That would mean I had gone in a circle. I seemed to have been lost, probably due to my thoughts swarming around me.
I picked up my pace, hurrying as focusing on how to get back to the hideout. I could spot sunset, which meant everyone would be headed back by now. I didn't want them to worry about me and assume the worst.
If I could have gotten to mermaid lagoon, I would recognize my way back. I must of been going the opposite way, because soon nothing looked familiar to me. I stopped moving to take in my surroundings, noticing a few but trees and not any of the usual coconut ones. I was probably away from any of the shorelines in Neverland.
I heard a crunch from behind me, making me jump in caution. Then a few bushes made brushing sounds.
I wasn't alone. Somebody else had to be around me somewhere, whether it be an animal or a human.
"Peter?" I asked, hoping it was someone I knew. "Oliver?"
I heard whispers between the company, but I couldn't make out any words. Hugging my arms, I peered into the direction the conversation was coming from.
It had to be people I didn't know from Neverland, why would anyone be hiding from me otherwise?
I cleared my throat, beginning to introduce myself. "My name is Shae."
I started to hear more footsteps from nearby, frightening me. I turned my head to see who was coming, but soon was grabbed by a set of hands and blind folded.
I shrieked, but a palm covered my mouth to silence me. The stranger tried to sooth me by calmly shushing me. Defenseless, I dug my feet into the ground as I was dragged away.
*Peter Pan's point of view*
The sunset poured down onto Neverland, making me grin with ease as I flew back to the hideout. May would be sitting inside waiting for me, probably occupying herself with a story she would soon tell the lost boys and I.
I couldn't wait to tell her what I did all day, she would be so impressed. I was busy planning the perfect plan to defeat Hook and his crew.
I zoomed down to through the secret opening, searching the quiet, motionless room for May.
