Luke searched everywhere for his nephew, but his quest always ended tragically. He was devastated, angry and afraid.
Million questions covered his mind, but no answer came. There were only speculations.
Some said he ran away, some that he was kidnapped, and the least likely one was that he committed suicide. Luke didn't even want to think of the last one, it was too painful.
He sent Leia a letter with the news, and she instantly replied back telling him that she and Han will come immediately to help him find Ben.
It was years after they last saw each other, but he had never seen her so unhappy and heart broken. In his opinion she looked like she got older just in few days. Han didn't look any better himself. Luke slowly approached his sister with his arms open and she instantly hugged him back. The moment contained so much emotion that it spoke louder than words.
"I am sorry dear sister, it is all my fault. Please forgive me." Luke's eyes got even more watery than before.
"Hush. It is not your fault. We will find him...I believe." She released the hug to look her brother in the eyes. "He is a good boy, we will find a way. But how did it happen?"
"Han, Leia come along with me and I will tell you what I know." They went to the camp and found an empty wooden table to sit on. Luke took a moment to think before he continued.
"It happened at night, while everyone was asleep. That is why I think he was kidnapped. No one heard anything, no one saw anything. He was alone in his cabin. The next morning he didn't come at breakfast, and I went to wake him up, but he was gone."
"But how is that possible, did you ask everyone? His best friends?" Leia was sure that she will do anything to find her only son, anything.
"He is best friend with a small girl named Rey, but she told me that the last time she saw him was that night at dinner. After that she went to sleep, and so did he."
"That is impossible! Someone must have seen what had happened!" Leia stood from her chair, while Han tried to sit her down again. He knew she did that when she was nervous.
"Maybe their memory is erased." Han said. Everyone looked at him.
"That is possible!" Luke seemed to believe in that idea, but he couldn't do anything about it, it was no use. "That only goes against us. We need to make a plan."
"I have one! We will search everywhere again, I will not surrender that easily. That is my son we are talking about!" Leia was on verge of tears, she closed her eyes and tried to remember him. His features, his face and his small body pressed into her. She remembered the days when they were a real family, happy and careless. She missed it so much.
How fast time flies. "I just want him to be safe, I want to hug him so tightly and never let go." Han raised his right hand and gently touched her dark hair. He wanted to comfort her, even when the argued he still loved her, and she knew.
"Don't worry we will find him. I promise." He silently said, loud enough only Leia to hear.
3 months later
"Prepare! We will land soon!" Female robotic voice was heard inside the room. Ben stood behind the door, ready to get out first.
His white robes were now changed in black ones, long and scary. His face was covered by a mask, black just like his uniform with only one silver part near his eyes.
Tightly into his right hand he carried his new lightsaber which was a red cross. He didn't like it, he wanted his previous one. As they got even nearer anxiety formed in his body, his hands started shaking and his face went pale, but no one could see that because of the mask.
That was the only thing he liked about it, no one could see his emotions. The door opened and they all went out. He was in the company of the knights of Ren.
His name was no longer Ben Solo, but Kylo Ren and he hated it. He hated the life that he was forced to live. Now all of his friends will die, because of him, because he was a coward. He choose Rey over them.
It was night, again it reminded him of that moment when he stepped in the dark side. Killing someone in their sleep was the worst and weakest way, but it were Snoke's orders.
He went in one cabin and did his job. His body was filled with terror. He was afraid of his own actions, slowly he was becoming Snoke's killing device, a monster.
After he got out he heard a familiar scream. Rey was lying on the cold hard ground covered in dirt. He instantly ran to save her. One of the knights wanted to take his weapon from his back and harm her, but he was too late because Kylo already stabbed him with his lightsaber. Screams were heard everywhere, no one knew what was happening.
"Nooooo!" That voice belonged to master Luke, who ran to save Rey and placed himself to fight Kylo. His face was covered in blood and sweat and he looked furious. "Who are you creature? Why are you doing this?"
"I am sorry uncle, I must." Luke froze, he didn't expect that, he was surprised, he was caught unready.
"Ben? What? We thought you were dead?" His voice was weak and sad, "Why? You from all people!"
"Ben doesn't exist anymore, there is only Kylo Ren." He reached for Rey who was crushed, she didn't believe it either. He made her faint with the force and carried her into the ship. Luke couldn't reach them. The other day he left her on Jakku.
"Please forgive me Rey, I don't have any other choice. I...I am sorry." He closed his eyes and did the hardest thing possible, he erased all her memories.
